These privileged climate and social activists are blind to how they are inescapably trapped in capitalist webs of power. Their childish defiance plays into the commodification of protest by the paradigms of profit – e.g., being put on the cover of for-profit
Time Magazine to sell issues. The all-consuming need for capitalist gratification will swallow whole this jejune "threat" from naïve children and regressive adults, as it does everything else.
Social activists "sow the wind, but reap the whirlwind," as it were. They do not understand that capitalism is historically reproductive and finds new ways to absorb all forms of dissent -- e.g., Nike and Kaepernick's SJWism.
