Best electric razor

Dudes and dudettes, need a bit of advice here.  My dad has been using the same electric razor for 17  years.  I want to get him a new one for Christmas.  I know nothing about these things as I use a blade.

Anyone know a decent one under $250?  Or should I just get him to join GetBig and start shaving with the 9-in-1 Rambo Combat Survival Knife like the rest of us?  So sharp it can cut paper.  Cuts paper dude....

My problem with electric shavers is they work great on the sides of my face and mouth area but cause a lot of irritation on my neck. Basically unusable under my jawline.

I would always just use a buzzer to take off the excess hair. However, I wanted more of a clean shave, so I recently purchased this electric razor and love it. I think it was close to $90

The one I posted above works pretty damn well on my neck area and under my chin. Some spots are very hard to get with the electric razor and I just use a razor for those spots, but its minimal.

I use a Philips Norelco series 9000. I works great on wiry white beards. -Stays charged for a very long time and comes with an adjustable trimmer head. It wasn't cheap, but I deserve the best.

Just looked up that one and it says you have to replace the blade every four months and it says directly it doesn't shave as close as their other more expensive electric razors. Reviews say it's great for keeping that light shadow look. I might get it. When I had the stubble look I would shave every three or four days. Thought it would be great if I could keep that look and the Philips one blade comes with stubble spacers. Thanks for the suggestion.

Many people don't purchase new heads as often as needed. It's kind of like not changing your toothbrush or for those of us who use electric toothbrushes replacing the heads when needed. If I remember correctly, for my electric shaver, Phillips Norelco recommends changing the head annually at minimum. No matter what kind of equipment you use to shave your face, the blades will get dull overtime. Guys who look good in full beards have it made.
