Royal Ballet-trained dancer Sergei Polunin has been dropped from a major upcoming production of Swan Lake after posting a series of homophobic and sexist messages on social media.
Ukraine-born Polunin is a fervent admirer of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin – he has a tattoo of him on his chest – and a supporter of the US president telling people “you don’t like Donald Trump because he speaks the truth and speaks his mind!!!”

Classical ballet is a fantastic art form when performed by women and men that know their natural roles and live them in the real world and on stage. 

No woman I know wants a feMale and no man I know wants a woMan.  I have long enjoyed Classical ballet having attend more than a few live performances in the early through mid 80s by the Kirov and Bolshoi whenever it became possible to see them in the U.S.  I have recorded performances on Laser Disc, Super VHS and DVD of many classic performances and continue to enjoy them to this day.

It is great to read of a male dancer that sticks up for what it means to be a Man. Thanks!

Some people enjoy the ballet, just like some people like theater, the opera, a good symphony, jazz, hip hop or rap music. It doesn't make them guys, but it might culturally enrich their lives. This would be a very uninteresting world if everyone liked the same things.
