Human beings like shortcuts. When there stands to be a lot to gain in any particular situation, we employ as many shortcuts necessary to arrive at our goal.
NFL teams generate a lot of money from the league per year. I think I read that every team generates about 300+ million from the league per year. The Patriots stand to make a shitload more than just $300mil and it stems from their position as a dynasty. If anyone believes for one second that most athletes, in all walks of life, aren't cheaters at the core, they haven't dealt with enough athletes. So as long as millions of dollars are in the balance, people will sell their fucking souls.
This type of behavior is present in all sports, regardless of it being professional or collegiate. Shit, people can go out amongst friends to play a friendly game of football and if one team can cheat, they will. It's human nature. Anyhow, people won't care about this come February 2, 2020. By then, if the Patriots are in the Superbowl, people will cheer them on like crazy fanboys. Not sure who will make it this year, as I haven't been following too closely. Are the Ravens still leading the AFC and the Packers the NFC?
