Sucks when he said "I was so close, but not there" in 97. Nasser, you won the 97 Olympia, no question.

Anyhow, I am not very up to date with 90s lore. Was Nasser actually a super intelligent guy and if so, why was this the case? More importantly, was he really GH15?

The front of a god with a hint of mobile one on the shoulders and bis, and the back of an amateur bodybuilder competing in a teen contest was competing against Dorian who was more complete albeit less aesthetic from the front. It was close but I think the right man won.

P.S. I hung and lifted with Nasser. He was reasonably friendly, I guess, but without much in any way of a personality.

In the annals of history he is among the most beautiful of bespectacled men. Dorian Yates won the 1997 Mr. Olympia without question. Without controversy. Nasser was even better in 1998. Perhaps his best showing ever. Unfortunately for him, Ronald Dean Coleman finally arrived. God bless you Nasser. May you be enjoying the fruits of 72 virgins whilst looking down on us all.

yep, Mr Olympia that year front and side, couldn't win the Npc Californina from behind, similar to strydom, sitting there watching it was like how could they lose, then they turned around and it was like where did they go.  No hate both good guys with good physiques, Yates looked terrible but still deserved to win. Just to good from the rear, even if he was beaten  front and side, it was a comparison, from the rear there was no comparison.

I thought it was a somewhat close contest until I saw this video:



I'm not sure Dorian could have hidden his flaws & injuries any better.

I'm sure it looked even more obvious looking at it live in person as well.

This. Yates actually should have used some oil in his arms. :D Should've taken some advice from Europes oil guru at that time who supplied many pros with the german quality stuff, Heiko Kallbach. 8)
