This virus has hit incredibly close to home for me.  That being said, I want businesses to open, stay open and flourish.  Why not try a mask mandate enforced by business owners/operators along with social distancing and capacity limits indoors.  I don't want a lockdown/shutdown.  This seems like a fair compromise to me.  Let's try it for 6 months and see where the numbers are then.  If we continue to fight and don't work together on this we'll be in this miserable rut for years to come.

Gov Murphy from NJ is an amateur Twitter fear monger:

"Sadly, we must also report seven new confirmed #COVID19 deaths for a total of 14,546 lives lost.

All seven of these deaths occurred within the past 15 days.

This virus has been waiting for us to get lax. Stay vigilant, safe, and smart."

Think about that tweet as it is written...the math and the science.

We are supposedly in a crisis of new cases yet 7 deaths in the last 2 weeks. How does that work with saying there were 14,546 in the last several months? Does that make ANY sense?

How does a virus, which is just a piece of DNA wait to pounce? It's not alive watching and waiting. Does that sound scientific or like shit talking? How damned DUMB are people in NJ?

People have to see this is all about control, right?

I love the absolute idiocy and childish ignorance by those in power. As if "The Virus" is just sitting around in its secret layer on Mt Doom bidding its time until we all get "Lax!" and then it launches its devious plan into action! And now only SUPER POLITICIAN and their dumb band of "Scientists"  ::) can save the day by attempting to force the citizenry to blow their own brains out.

Data is in, lock downs don't work. They only destroy and kill people. This isn't a video game or a football on Sunday. It's endemic now, seasonal. Death rates aren't following positive test results.

Also, the PCR we rely on to feed the Fear Porn Factories isn't meant for what it is purposed for in this case. It is meant to find debris and amplify it....great for crime scene DNA and such but a disaster for this use. More testing = More positive results.  A positive PCR test doesn't mean you have SARS-COV2.

Love it. Perfect. Should be the lead story in every newspaper and Internet site tomorrow morning.

A traffic jam out of Paris that is 430 miles long due to 30 day curfew. Does this look normal and is the timing of the US election pretty strange? If the election is handed to Biden somehow you could consider this the great reset that the supposed tin foil crowd has been watching for. A nationwide curfew is a test of control over people. Nothing more. The "science" has disproved that lockdowns work and that includes the WHO as of a couple weeks ago.

Just sayin'

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm

https://www.nejm.org/doi/pdf/10.1056/NEJMe2002387?articleTools=true

Infection Fatality Ratio (IFR): The number of individuals who die of the disease among all infected individuals (symptomatic and asymptomatic).  This parameter is not necessarily equivalent to the number of reported deaths per reported case because many cases and deaths are never confirmed to be COVID-19, and there is a lag in time between when people are infected and when they die. This parameter also reflects the existing standard of care, which may vary by location and may be affected by the introduction of new therapeutics.

This entire lockdown strategy is to kill the small business. Big companies who can take a loss will still be alive and then will buy every business that filed bankrupcy.
I can't find any other explanations.

More on the absurd. Highest case totals since April.  ::)

I saw an excellent comment about all this calling it a "casedemic" not a "pandemic".... how true!

If you had a cure for the common cold(and could make it in 6 months), what is the "market price" exactly? Trump was killing big pharma on pricing, this is hilarious.

US cases top 100k for 6th day
    Hospitalizations match April records
Pfizer vaccine to be offered at below-market rates
    Global cases near 51 million
New study shows COVID patients could be at higher risk of mental-health issues
Denmark warns of mink farms' threat to human health

Better start stocking up on food and supplies and weight training equipment.

You might not be able to buy certain things which aren't 'essential'.

Have a back-up computer, laptop or electronics you use because if anything breaks, and it's a 3 month hard lockdown, you won't be able to get anything fixed.

What about things like cash vs credit?

Better to have more debt but more cash on hand?

Some businesses aren't accepting cash during the pandemic.

Here nobody accepted cash during the lockdown.

Supply shortages for consumer products will hit this month and be pretty bad in December. Sea freight is booked solid and cancellations keep happening at the last minute. I get alerts from the global carriers as i move a lot of product around.

For me, camping equipment and mountain bike products are in tight supply if you want the good stuff. We are coming into Summer and camping has boomed.

I’m in NYC. I stocked up canned goods during the lockdown and it was completely unnecessary.

It’s really about keeping too much money from getting into the system as a result of the worldwide currency devaluation. That’s why I’m expecting to see a lot of restrictions during the holiday season when people travel and spend a lot.

That didn’t take long😂

Just wondering your thoughts in times like lockdowns - keeping money in the bank vs paying down debts?

Better to have 50k in the bank but 50k in debt

Or

100k in the bank and 100k in debt?

Looks like the inflation is going to be curtailed via economic slowdowns so I would just pay down the debt.

Best hedge against inflation is stocks.
