This article from early 2020 says there's about 100,000 ICU beds in the entire US.  That's out of a population of 330 million or 1 bed for every 3300 people.  Even if entirely full, that is .3% of the population.  And of couse they are not even close to being all full with Covid patients.  If even half are though, that is .15% of the population at issue for the ICU beds.

Funny, we are in the middle of Flu season but the current tests don't test Flu A and B.  Specific reagent needed in conjunction with covid.

Flu accounts for about 25k deaths but Omicron has mild symptoms.

How many of these "so-called" deaths are flu underlying instead of Omicron related?

Went to a late lunch today. Nice place, part brewpub part cocktail bar with good food. There's a common area in the middle with a fireplace and couch seating and several people there eating. I'm in flyover country far enough away from a major metros...no masks in sight - diners, cooks, servers, bartender.....none - zip - ziltch - nada.

This couple that were sitting about 5 feet from us for an hour get up to leave and put masks on just to walk outside. The whole place started chuckling when they got out of the main area. I guess they were from the city.
