If he was a devote Catholic, why did God take him in a helicopter crash, along with his daughter.  That's a horrible way to die, and now his wife and kids have to suffer.  Was God punishing him?

What conclusion am I jumping to when the fucking url says kobe bryant saved by his catholic faith and contains an article expounding on this, with no surprise twist.

I know you're grieving for your close personal friend, who was in the same building as you - and possibly operated doors with hinges, that served as portals for you to - but you need to think straight.

Video of the crash

They went out in poor flying conditions.  The LAPD grounded all of their helicopters this morning. I am going to guess it was a visibility type of crash.   I guess we will find out the details.  An OC coach died with his wife and daughters too.  Does "Coach" know them?

If you dumbasses would just read the fucking content. This is what I meant when I said “before you jump to conclusions”

“In 2003, Kobe Bryant was accused of raping a woman in his hotel room, while he was in Colorado for knee surgery. He admitted having sex with the woman but denied rape. A judge eventually dropped the charges, but the woman went on to file a civil lawsuit against Bryant that was settled outside of court. In the midst of it all, he issued a public apology, stating that he was sincerely ashamed of what he had done.“

The only thing I said he would come into the facility where I had my S&C facility. My last facility was within a 120,000sqft sports complex. Mostly basketball with 14 courts where tournaments where held. Lakers kids camps where held there every season. Lakers players would come in and out all the time.

Gianna played basketball and one of his younger daughters played on the soccer fields there.  No, I met him once but didn’t know him.

You must be overcome by grief and not thinking straight.  We already know the story.  The apology was even pasted a few pages back.

I realise you must defend your close personal building cohabitation mate, but we're operating at full capacity, due to not having been honoured with being in the same building as Kobe.

He was indeed.  Always in good spirits. Always signed anything and took all pictures with fans.

N1S you and I must know each other.

I'd bet we were there at the same times, seeing the same things, looking out over the floor from the high perch of the stationary bikes

Life isn’t promised. The Christian faith isn’t one of follow God and everything goes great. The belief is follow God and everything will be worth something.

The Bible is full of accounts of suffering, pain and loss, for Godly people. God even had His own Son crucified.

By all accounts Kobe had a great life, but it was lived with a double edge sword. If Kobe wasn’t the great basketball player he wouldn’t have been traveling by helicopter so often.  Maybe he doesn’t die at 41 if he’s riding in a car.

If Kobe was born 75 years earlier he wouldn’t have been known today. We all die. Some deaths are better than others but even in best case scenarios  it doesn’t erase the pain and trauma the survivors go through.

Seems like from the radar and pings that the pilot literally flew the helicopter in to the mountain at 160mph while maintaining a level altitude, more than likely didnt even see the mountain through the fog and they all died instantly.

This is truly a tragedy, Kobe was so young...I always liked him as a champion that handled being in the spotlight rather well. This sucks!

First of all it is very arrogant and ignorant to presume to know why God does anything ever. It is not for us to know, we are merely to be grateful for what we have, to chrrish the moments we are blessed with, to love God with all our hearts and to love each other.

Would he care if I die?
Or any of you?

You are assuming that the Creator is benevolent. What if the Creator is a Voyeur?

From your post it sounds like you are an atheist correct? You are being sarcastic when you say "God works in mysterious ways". What you really mean to say is:"See this is why God does not exist and is a fairy tale!".

In a dog fight, the humans organizing it is the Creator. They build a cage. They decide which dogs will fight. They place them in the cage. They Created the dog fight. Without the humans the dogs might have never met and fought. Why they make the dogs suffer in the fight is irrelevant to the winner / loser goal of the fight.

In Kobe's case, if he was a devote Catholic, him dying in a crash does not mean that God was punishing him. Kobe and his daughter were going to die at some point in their lives. In this case they died sooner than expected.

I see the Creation as organic and not following a planned script. The beauty is that there are all these possibilities and choices that can make the difference between living and dying. Should Kobe have taken a limo instead of flying in a helicopter? Should he have bought a helicopter? Maybe he hired the wrong maintenance crew or pilot? Perhaps there was a defect on the aircraft?

Based on how complex the Universe is it is clear that there are trillions of possibilities and the Creator designed it that way. I don't think it is odd that Kobe could die in a plane crash and a Creator can exist.

I think it sucks that he died at a relatively young age and that his daughter did not even reach adulthood. The coach, his wife and child all died also.

People die all the time I get it. All I know is I wouldn't like it if that happened to me or a family member. So in that sense I care. But life moves on. Shit happens. It does seem like it is not a good idea to get your own aircraft if you're a celebrity lol. How many have now died? Travolta better double check his equipment. He is an experienced pilot but still the dude better be careful!

It seems more like a JFK Jr and Aaliyah type crash. That controller audio said nothing about a malfunction. LAPD kept all of their copters grounded b/c of thick fog. Kobe copter hits mountainous area flying low roughly at 160 mph. Will this turn out to be a situation where the flight should have been canceled?

For me it's always about the children in these type of accidents.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JYKNqvsbKw

Does this really need to be explained? Really? Kobe wouldn't care if you or I die because he doesn't know us. If he sees our names it would mean nothing to him.
You and I recognize his name and know him because of what he did with his life. The effect he had on billions of people. Is that really so hard to understand? Now it's quite valid to say that you don't care if he died because he didn't know you or you think he was a bad person, but don't presume to speak for the billions of people who do care. You may think it's silly and that's fine just as the vast majority don't agree with you and are affected by it deeply.

Even though I was just twelve years old I remember the impact it made on me when Bruce Lee died. More so than when one of my grandmothers died because I never met her or heard much of her growing up so she had zero impact on my life. Bruce Lee was a huge inspiration to me as a kid.
