mma crying about stephen a smith

it really stung the community and especially joe rogan that a team sport guy said the obvious a past his prime cerrone was a gimme fight for conor in which nothing was learned and cerrone blew the biggest opportunity in his career

His opinion holds some truth not sure if cerrone is past his prime but in MMA some guys burn out

Cerrone has 17 submission wins and 10 knockout victories. Cerrone holds the all-time UFC record for wins with 23. Cerrone holds the all-time UFC record for finishes with 16.He is a dangerous fighter but hes 36 years old 36 fights it takes its toll

cerrone lost in his only title shot  66 sec  1st round in 2015

it does demonstrate that cerrone best days are gone and he is not the same caliber as conor

Cerrone didn't pack it in.  He's finished.  He doesn't have much of any punch resistance left and his face and body break down upon the first shots that land.

While we didn't learn how Conor would do against the elite of 155 & 170, we did learn that he is capable of taking the sport seriously and preparing himself in proper fashion.  Also, those shoulder butts were pretty impressive.  It's the type of move I'd expect from Adesanya or Jon Jones.  Props to Conor for being ready and improvising/taking what's there.

Both sides are a little right and a little wrong. 

Steven Smith is a blow hard and Joe Rogan was to eager to pounce. 

Max Kellerman would have been the better choice to represent ESPN or preferably Bret Okomoto, Chael or Ariel.

He wasn't wrong in implying that defeating cowboy doesn't really show much in regards to how he would do against the top of the talent pool after his lay off
