Legit input here. I do aerial fpv videography for mountain biking and some global brands has used my stuff on their social media (as in a proper pro shoot). It's only a hobby for me and just started Insta.

4k means groundwork has been done.

If you have 4k and aren't gaining automatically then your content is low quality or you are posting irrelevant things to your followers. If you do both of these it's even more horrible.

In my niche i see a lot of pro riders stuck at 2.5-4k followers. All of them have crap content. Nobody shares crap content.

the 4 k followers ,  slow process ….. mostly fans of my acting/radio work;  the more variety you provide the more people will stop following ,like you said ; the minute you post "bodybuilding related stuff " the cigars/ whiskey followers" won't find it relevant no more and vicebersa   to be "popular" you need to be posting just about one subject non stop,   and that's exactly my problem .

Make sure you put lots of hashtags on your account/uploads to draw all manner of people to it... yes it is work, but if an industry is looking at social media in consideration to hire you... it will be worth it

To many hashtags will get you shadowbanned , using the same hashtags everyday will get you shadowbanned using non-related hashtags will get you shadowbanned ask me how I know lol

At 15k you are considered an influencer. How many followers do you need

It's a fucking mad time and money waster unless what you are posting is of the normal stuff you do (which it is for me).

Right now, no brands will offer us any discounts desoite them loving and using our footage (with my concent). At 5k followers, we will have a number of options. At 10k, we will have free stuff and they will pay me to film their other riders.

Another example;   there's this movie  we are promoting , one of my coworkers puts the flyer on his IG page, the main actress gives him a "like "  then proceeds to visit his IG page to her surprise he only has 2.500 followers,  so what does she do ?


She takes her damn "Like"  back , lol ..... pathetic,  ...all he's doing is promoting her movie to his few followers on IG while he has a lot of real followers /listeners on radio ....  but if you're not an influencer " you just don't mean shit despite how professional you are .

this Social media thing is getting out of hand ... if you're on media or show biz you really need to do something about it  .
