Thomas Inch Dumbbell (Lift)
« on: January 30, 2020, 01:59:33 PM »
Do you know how many big, strongman have failed to lift the Inch-Bell? (Many).

This list is even shorter for those who can lift it with each hand, and Thor's dad does it at the 3:30 mark.
Grip Master!  8)

If a real Inch bell is size and weight, that is some feat...

IIRC Bill Kazmaier was the 1st man to lift the dumbbell overhead.
4 or 5 had previously lifted it to their Knees.

He put it to his shoulder w/ 2 hands. (Kaz). Then pressed it overhead...

Mark Henry I think is the only person to pick it up and clean it and press it overhead, using just one hand. (At AOBS dinner some years back)...
(Its own YouTube).  I met him there (Henry), his hands are like catchers mitts. Nice guy too...

Yeah, Shaw is a grip beast...

But for a regular guy like Thor's dad, impresses me more. If youve never tried an Inch, you'd be surprised at how difficult it can be.
Its the thickness, not the weight. It "rolls out of your hand". I have a 200 lb. block weight with a 2.5-inch welded handle, I lift with either hand all day long.

Try a 135 LB. "BABY INCH" that I own, and no-go... Rolls right out...

His dad doing it must kinda make Thor wonder about his 200 extra lbs and lots of juice not be worth much right then.wapecially when the guy is double your age.

“None could, not even Thomas Inch. He could only deadlift it. Well, no one could until Bill Kazmaier. The actual Thomas Inch Dumbell was in a museum, but Bruce White of Perth Australia made a replica of it. Kaz flew down to Australia and on October 13, 1990, he cleaned and pressed it. No problem.”

Hmmm I don’t know if he used 2 hands to clean it - That snippet makes it sound like he likely used
One Hand.
I’ll search some more for info / account of him lifting it.

Nick McKinless has a replica Inch Dumbbell in Australia. I had it at my gym for a while. Never saw anyone lift it off the floor with one hand.

The original Inch dumbbell had a small hole in the handle. Some reports suggest Thomas had a ring that fit that hole and

helped him lift it as a strongman act. He offered money to anyone who could duplicate his feat.

If you have large hands and a strong grip it might help. Otherwise, good luck!

Nick McKinless has a nine Inch cock and lives here in Australia. I had it in my mouth for a while. Never could handle it with one hand.

The original Inch dumbbell had a small hole in the handle. Some  suggest Thomas wear a cockring then fuck my old, decrepid asshole and

reem me out good. He offered me money to let him go raw.

If you have large hands and a strong cock it might help to lube me up first. Otherwise, good luck!

Kaz didnt do a 1-hand clean, Henry was the 1st, only...

"Indeed when men like Kaz and Phil Pfister need to continental the bell to the shoulder instead on cleaning it, one suspects that Inch may not have quite had the cleaning power of these two mastiffs. Phil indicated this week that he cannot yet one hand clean his replica, but he plans some surprises at the next Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio, next year".

A lot of the old strongman feats of strength were tricks and that's why they've never been repeated.  Bob Hoffman used to do exhibitions when he was over 60 years old lifting an enormous weight with 1 hand overhead.  The actual weights were made of aluminum and were very light.
