It didn’t look like he was struggling much either.  He could have done a couple more I bet.  I wonder what his true max is?  Maybe 1100?

It's hard for me to guess at that level...but I would have to think between 1050 and 1100.  I'm not sure what his previous max was in contest.  He may have hit 1050 already, but I can't recall.  I'm pretty sure he was somewhere between 1010 and 1040.

I'm not sure if he's quite at 1100 yet...but he may be closer than anyone else at this point [besides Eddie].

Yeah obviously he is very strong but doesn’t he weigh close to half that?no one here seems to ever compare weight to weight.

I’m much more impressed by a 220lber doing 600 than a 450 lber doing 1000.

It’s not a steady scale, weight-to-performance ratios.

The very heaviest weights will always be hoisted by the very biggest men.

No I get that. And he is a monster of a man. Just to me seeing a 250lber deadlift 700 would be more impressive than a 450 hitting 1000.Nothing taken away from the monster as that weight would no doubt break me in two.

He's still early in his prep for the Arnold, curious to see what he will hit this year on the E-Bar DL.

People have no clue that his 1000 pound dead is like 1300 pounds at 5feet10

Thor has to move the bar more distance than normal lifters thus even more impressive

That's insane - thanks for posting Matt! Looks like he could have done 3 to 4 reps. I think Thor is going to be the first guy to break Eddie's record. He might do it this year at the Arnold. In one of his videos he says he thinks he'll do 500+ this year. Looks like he bulked up quite a bit also since he slimmed down a few months ago. He's gotta be 440-450ls now. His stomach is not too big either.

That said I think Eddie could have gone 510kg the day he lifted 500kg. If you look at videos of that lift you'll see that he had a little more left in the tank. But it almost killed him. So his muscles could handle it but not sure his heart would have taken that. His pulse was over 200 and they could not even read his blood pressure right after the lift.

There is also this new guy with 470 kg PR and 501 kg attempt - Ivan Makarov. Don’t know anything about him or his future plans but I remember reading that this was legit lift and he is training solely for the world record in deadlift.

On gear, no testing.

Thor was 385 off gear (or TRT clean out) a couple months back. Weighed in at 462 last week.
That plus doubling up on calories again.

Been keeping an eye on this guy. There's several people getting close to 1000#'s and it's pretty impressive to watch.
