Ed Nunn Update?
« on: February 07, 2020, 10:29:48 PM »
Does anyone know what Ed Nunn has been up to lately?

After the 2013 Arnold Classic, he stated his woes with bodybuilding in an interview he had with, I believe, FlexOnline [a now-defunct Ironage bodybuilding website, which was the online companion piece to FLEX magazine, a now-defunct Ironage bodybuilding magazine].  FLEX, in both magazine and digital format, were part of the bodybuilding empire of Ironage bodybuilding magazine mogul, Joe Weider.  This was back when Joe Weider controlled 96% of the bodybuilding industry, but who himself was, interestingly enough, controlled financially by the Rothschild family.

It's fascinating to read about what people control what industries, etc, and it is interesting to note that the Rothschild controls all industry and all other alleged heads of industry, and even heads of state!

The Rothschild family controls: our news, our media, our oil, and our government!

I read about that in a meme online [below] so it must be true!

 ;D

...

But on a serious note, does anyone know what happened to Ed "Second to" Nunn?

He was upset with his 8th place spot at the 2013 Arnold Classic, and in the post-contest interview stated that "I'm a six foot tall Black man", suggesting that he felt race may have had something to do with his placing.

Although that makes no sense, because 5 of the 7 men who beat him at the contest were themselves N's!  LOL!  Literally, a handful of N's beat Ed Nunn, and he suggested that race was the factor in his placing 8th.  ;D  It's sort of funny, because when you think about how 5 of 7 of the guys who beat Nunn were themselves N's, and how Nunn also mentioned being six feet tall, when Toney Freeman is a 6'2" Black man, and placed 3rd at the contest that year.  ;D

I fail to see how being an N resulted in Ed Nunn's 8th placing - there were only two non-N's who beat Nunn at that contest!  Hidetada Yamagishi and Ben Pakulski.

In fact, 7 bodybuilders in the top 10 that year were N's!  LOL!!!  Ben Pakulski was the ONLY bodybuilder in the top 10 that year!  Here are the contest results:

But notice that Ed Nunn's last contest was the following year - so clearly, he was starting to feel badly about bodybuilding as an industry and/or his respective contest results, because he did end up quitting/retiring from bodybuilding:

Ed is a super nice guy, and I felt was a great bodybuilder!  He did look very good in 2013, so it is a bit sad to see him only place 8th in 2013:

What a nice dude!  Great person and bodybuilder.

F*ck, I talk and type way too much.  I wish I could get that under control!

Here is a video of Nunn at the prejudging of the Arnold Classic that year - he nailed his conditioning, and I can definitely see why he was sad about his placing - even IF race or height was not the single individual factor for placing as he did:

Ed Nunn in the "Pump Room" [Brehm Room] at the Veteran's Memorial auditorium in Columbus, Ohio:

Another video from the 2013 Pump Room with Ed Nunn, as well as Johnnie O. Jackson:

Great physique.  Sad that you can be that big and shredded and barely make the top 10 in the top bodybuilding contests today.  It just seems so daunting how big and lean you have to be to place well in something that doesn't even pay well unless you are literally one of the top 4-6 in the world.  No wonder some bodybuilders leave the industry bitter, and with regrets.

Does anyone know what happened to this excellent tall Black Ironage bodybuilder?  Talk about a small waist!  Nunn's clavicle structure/width and his long football-shaped arms are both very Goodrum-like:

Edd nunn had a great physique, I saw him compete at the 2013 australian pro.

Too thin through the torso to get nice placings in the ifbb freak show but still great physique ....

What's this ironage shit, are you trying to make that a thing?

Great post - I suppose you said it...he needed to bring his chest up, which may not have been possible - or at least, not easy - at the level he was at.

Yes sir.

Sounds like a whiny prick, blaming race, which in turn, is absolutely foolish as most guys who beat him were also Black or Asian.

Retard...

Do you remember that interview?  I think it was with Flex Online.  Here is the Getbig post about it, but the Ironage links have since disappeared down the internet memory hole:

http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=461954.0

I posted this here, as I figured someone would remember it.  Also, because I noticed that Nunn retired in 2014, which was only a year after he made those comments.  He obviously felt defeated, and decided to throw in the towel.

It is funny that 6 out of the 7 people who beat him that year were not White, and 5 of 7 were other N's, LOL.

I'm reminded of when Will Smith's wife was whining about #OscarsTooWhite once she stopped getting hired for as many roles [not grasping that young women are only hired for roles in Hollywood because they are pieces of ass that men want to fuck, who eventually age out of Hollywood no matter WHAT race they are - an example being Gwyneth Paltrow's current insanity with the website GOOP, selling candles that smell like her fishy vagina, etc].

In an interview, Will Smith pointed out that even though he supported the [moronic/White Guilt] Twitter movement against the Oscars, that in his case, the people who beat him the two times he got nominated were Forest Whitaker [for "The Last King of Scotland"] and Denzel Washington [I believe for "Training Day"].  In other words, he was complaining about the Oscars being racist against Black people, when the two people who beat him were both Black people, LOL.

Epic victim of racism!!!

Ed Nunn's was sort of the same - referencing race like it was a factor when 5 of 7 pros who beat him were other N's, LOL.  Ben Pakulski was literally the only White person who placed ahead of him, LOL.

This is what happens when we drill it into the heads of certain people that they are "oppressed" even when they aren't.  It's much worse than that though, because these people are not only not oppressed - they are being coddled and accommodated in every way possible.

There was a case in Ontario, where midwives were suing the provincial government over wages, claiming that nurses were getting paid more than midwives, and that it was a "gender pay gap" issue, since most midwives are women.  Just...LOL.  Yep, everything boils down to sexism!  It can't be any other reason except for that!  Oh brother.  ::)

Good physique though - I had forgotten how small Nunn's waist was.  Very good for a man his size.  I also forgot that Nunn was 6'1".  I thought he was 6'0".  As far as his complaint about being a "6'1" Black man" - it's unfortunately true that six feet is sort of the "death knell" as far as competitive bodybuilding is concerned...but that's true regardless of race.  It's sort of the opposite in strongman, where being under six feet is a disadvantage.  In both cases, there are exceptions though - but it is what it is.

Yeah it's a pity we don't see more physiques like this imo, but why stick around when you are not getting rewarded by the judges...

Also he was not a young guy, I think he was already in his early 40's or 40 in 2013 so well past his prime nowadays.

We need more tall guys with quality physiques competing in ifbb as open pro's.... We have a serious midget problem atm.

Nunn had good proportions at 6,1... Your right matt once above 6 foot it gets real tough, especially with the crazy weight one would need to get to, to be competitive as an open pro at over 6 foot.

He was the modern day Brian Buchanan. Glad he bailed rather than destroy his health. Patrick Moore reminds me of Ed. I hope he takes his time and doesn't rush things.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that wasn’t what he meant, when he said “I’m a 6 foot black man,” he meant just that, that he was a rarity, which is true, stating that all the other majority black men and other bbers were short, and being taller, he was bigger but was still losing to the short guys that are barely 5’5 to 5’7

The taller guys were definitely more intimidating, I remember seeing a 5’11 Art Atwood and 6’3/6’4 Quincy Taylor training at my gym in the mid 2000’s. They were just massive
