Virginia lawmakers reject assault weapon ban

Dem's just keep failing and failing. Shizz-Val is out there steaming somewhere over this madness.  :P
"But why do people need an AR-15" ??

Focus should be on how disarm criminals, not law abiding citizens.

handguns were involved in the majority (64%) of the 10,982 U.S. gun murders and non-negligent manslaughters for which data is available, according to the FBI. Rifles – the category that includes many guns that are sometimes referred to as “assault weapons”– were involved in 4%. Shotguns were involved in 2%. The remainder of gun homicides and non-negligent manslaughters (30%) involved firearms that were classified as “other guns or type not stated.”

Where am I with what?

I support gun rights for law abiding citizens.

I go shooting all the time.

Agreed.  Arrest and suitably punish the criminals.  The death penalty works every time it's carried out.  Law abiding citizens are NOT the problem.  Criminals and libtards are.

290 or so rifle homicides last year.  Some fraction of them were with semiauto rifles like the AR-15.

FTN.

Yes, hand guns out number so called assault weapons by huge numbers in homicides. Also unarmed assaults leading to death outnumber assault weapons. By unarmed I mean, kicks, punches, chokes and slams. The Virginia tech, Food Hood and many of the homicides in that gay night club was done with a handgun.  I wish the FBI kept a separate stat for so called assault weapons instead of lumping them in with all rifles.

These anti-gun zealots aren't going to quit, they are just shelving the bill for a while.  Stay vigilant.
