I would bet donning a hijab is an insurance against rape by an unknown assailant. I doubt there are statistics for this but I would guess a muslim would avoid attacking another muslim. Probably a lower chance of being mugged too. I know there are a few cases where muslim women have claimed they have been attacked by non-muslims for wearing a hijab but I think those cases are almost always fake. I read about a case where a schoolgirl was teased and called a whore at school by other girls for not wearing a hijab and someone at the school suggested that she should just start wearing one to stop the teasing. That's the sad reality of Sweden now.

Some town in Sweden banned the hijab for schoolchildren but the school refuses to enforce it, the hijab use actually increased by 400% as a result of the ban.
I have read that many muslim refugees arrive without a hijab but start wearing it in Sweden. What is this but a way of saying we are not going to become part of Sweden and we are not like you infidels? Just wonderful.
