The Swedish youths Prince Kadjo and Montaser Edris beat and robbed a young man at a train station, taking his phone. Then they abducted him to withdraw money from an ATM, while repeatedly punching him and threatening him that they would rape his mother and cut out her eyes if he did not comply. When the withdrawal failed, they forced him to a secluded location where they made him remove all of his clothes. While shouting "fucking Swede" and "guy" the beating continued. Then Prince Kadjo demanded the victim open his mouth before pissing in it. [1]
This case received much attention in Swedish media, because Prince and Montaser filmed their abuse and shared it on social media, where it was picked up on by Swedish alternative-media and spread. There have been lots of articles in Swedish press about how hard it is to be a young immigrant in Sweden; one journalist in Aftonbladet penning an emotional article titled "the robbers might never forgive us." [2] There was also a heart-wrenching interview with Edris' parents, who explained that they love Sweden and that their son is basically a good boy and didn't mean to do it. The interview was translated from arabic, since the parents have only been in Sweden for 6 years. [3] The victim's mother stated that she seeks to understand her son's assailants and wants to help them. [4]
Today justice was carried out as Prince and Montaser was sentenced to six months "youth social care." While they will not be incarcerated, this sentence will include constructive dialogue and a program to teach self-control and social skills
