Exactly. If I get the virus, I'll put myself in quarantine. Unless that happens, I am going to continue living my life as best as I can with our governor shutting everything down. Oregon currently has 47 known cases of coronavirus. Oregon has over 4 million residents. This is just insane.

And how do you do that exactly, think and act for yourselves? Will you go to the gym even though it's locked? Will you meet up with other people even though there's a risk of getting the virus and infecting somebody elder or with an illness that might die because of it?

Why is it necessary to exaggerate what people will or won't do. If the gym is locked, don't go. You'd have to break in and that's a crime. With everything closed, there's not much to do if you meet up with other people. Where are you going to meet? Everything is closed. If you get the virus take the appropriate steps to make sure you don't spread it. Elderly people, specially those who are ill eventually die from something or other (I say this and I am elderly) it is just a fact of life. And lastly, why would you ask such a stupid question as "will you stop washing your hands?" No, I am not going to stop washing my hands, in fact, I am washing them more than ever.

It's been in China since November/December. So Chinese travelers have been travelling all over the world since then until lockdown, Chinese travelers have infected people wherever they traveled. Then the infected locals spread it around, the virus spreading stealthily due to long incubation period before symptoms show.

Just before Wuhan was shutdown, 5 million people left the city.

What has really picked up steam has been the government and business reactions. It’s gone from nothing to everything shutting down, all events canceling and the public schools closing in a week.

While I generally don’t trust governments, I don’t have a bias in this fight. If it were bad I would say it’s bad. It’s not. And if you’re going to tell me to just wait you’re gonna have to explain why we made it through the worst part of flu season without an outbreak and now it’s going to takeoff when the season is about to end.
