Slightly more bend in the bar there than with my 225x25 below, but not by much.  I would guess that's 315-lb...or 405-lb at the most.  Very few lifters, even among the best in the world can lift 500x19.

There was [and may still be] a video on the official WWE website of Big John Studd bench pressing 700-lb.  Despite being billed at 6'10" and 350-lb, I'm sure that video was complete bullshit.

If I was going to add fake weights here, I'd make this maybe 255-lb.  People should be reasonable with their lies.  As if it isn't daunting enough feeling like you're not up to speed when you watch these guys, they just HAVE to lie too - in addition to all the steroids they take, and everything else?

Fake.

Warlord was always a perma bulker who had worse stamina than the ultimate warrior.

I've heard from other wrestlers in the past that Warlord was the only wrestler they ever heard of to have to take Singulair (sp?) a couple of hours before matches because he would blow up so quick.

Even if John Studd was "only" 6'8" and 335-lb...he may have hit a big bench press...maybe like 550-lb...so I doubt this is an honest 700:

The lack of bar bending made me think it was fake - but sounds like plates and clanging.  Probably 315

That was ridiculous.   Maybe 500 which is still huge but no way 700

i personally spotted him doing extreme close grip bench with 515lbs
he did 6 slow controlled reps with ridiculous ease.

Agreed.  If that's four or five real plates per side, I would believe it.  I'm just not buying 700 though, obviously, in that he is very long-limbed, and there are only, what, seven men who have hit 700?  Even with a big bounce, I don't see Big John Studd hitting that [RIP].

Please tell us more. What was he like? Is he the strongest guy you have lifted with?

Haz:
I know several people who witnessed him training up close in their gyms back in the late-80's, and can validate those claims. My one buddy said that practically the whole gym stopped what they were doing just to watch a few of his BP lifts.

It wouldn't surprise me if a few of the plates in the above video were gimmicks for the TV spot, but that doesn't discredit WL's legitimate strength.

He's a strong dude for sure. Big Bench. But that isn't how anyone on the planet takes 500 out. There needed to be a pause as he sets up at the top of the lift. It's probably in the 295-300 neighborhood. Two real 45s on each side and 3 10 pound fake plates per side. And a couple of real 5 pounders.

He was freakishly big.   Even for wrestlers.

And, even more so for that era.

This was during the time when the roster was getting prescription-grade gear from the WWF's "official" physician in Hershey, PA. They'd literally walk into the "exam room," hand the Doc a few hundred dollar bills, and receive a brown paper bag full of the items they ordered ahead of time. A few of the staff saw him for legit reasons, but he was basically a dealer.

The Fed's investigated him and McMahon's company around '91 or so, which shut down the whole operation.

For fuck's sake man really.....off course fake.

An oiled up man in a thong unracks "500" alone like it's 200(that's how much it actually is),and continues to press without spotters.

A fake wrestler to boot.

Was this really a serious question or a joke?

Maybe clothed in a gym he could do it,if you say he's so strong.

But this was exhibition for the WWF retards....oiled up and all without spotters....just for show. I doubt he wouldn't risk it and put that much.

Impressive....

I believe it was 500 pounds... good gym bars don't bend with a wide grip like that

If he were squatting, the bar would bend, because it is situated over a relatively small part of the back, which allows the bar to flex/bend more

i'm officially an idiot

it was animal from road warriors that i spotted, not warlord.

but i do have a story about warlord.  my roomate was a wrestler
weighing 270 lean. he could bench 5 plates for 5 reps.
he wrestled the warlord.  he looked like a child next to him and got ragdolled
and hurt really bad.

i have no doubt warlord could bench 500 for 20

and i have no doubt that that WAS NOT 500 in the video.
