they were originally called "the lumberjack twins" because of how they dressed ( flannel shirts pants work boots etc) they didnt really have much in the leg dept when they first arrived so hiding legs worked good for them. they did eventually build up some legs but never matched their upper bodies. joe weider gave them "the barbarians" name . david was a nice guy eccentric and talented . peter was just crazy . not sure when that happened or the cause. rip david. ( i too feel like peter wont be to far behind him like in the mentzers case)

Now that I've seen his facebook and twitter posts along with his Youtube videos I agree with 100%. His incoherent rants have been going on for at least 10 years and even the videos from interviews in the 80's show he is way off.

On facebook there are pics of the inside of his house in Vermont and it looks look clean and orderly which usually you don't find with insane people. He also doesn't appear to have a hygiene problem either which is another sign of insanity. Maybe David or someone else took care of him and he's probably on SSI for cash.

He is ranting all day and attacking people offering condolences online and he mentioned how he talked to David for hours and is explaining what heaven is like and how it is so much better than here.

I'm not putting David down, I think he was a good man and had a loving heart. He had no animosity towards his ex wife and really loved creating new and different things. If you could get past how he spoke, he truly was a breath of fresh air.

the reason why he did not stick with bodybuilding is that he'd be dead at 52 instead of 62. He made the right choice.
