oh damn man, this news just kill my spirit.....saw him played with his Trio at Blues alley in DC 15yrs ago and sat at a small table right behind him and this dude was a true master of the Art....he redefined the art of Modal Chords and the pentatonic scale.....RIP dude...you were the greatest

I've seen some of the great jazz players but not McCoy.  You are a fortunate man.
