If I were Ramy I would do anything to grow the quads to their absolute max potential. Let's assume he backs off them a little now, imagine how they would look even bigger? Don't neglect the rest but let the quads flower.

Imagine if Dorian had thought his back was too developed in comparison to his arms, and had laid off the back training. Dorian with a worse back, even if he got more symmetrical = loss of title

Dorian and Ronnie (before injuries) didn't have lagging bodyparts like Platz and to a lesser extent Ramy so there wasn't much call for them to downsize anything other than their guts.

Also Phil for maybe the last 15 years has held back on his arm training as plenty of people said he was all arms in the early days.

He wasn't out of shape, he was very conditioned. It's just that people expect some kind of out of this world conditioning in his case. The reason he doesn't beat some of the others is a combo of factors, not just conditioning.

They both look good, particularly Gunther. His conditioning was even better from the back. Ronnie is always exceptional from the back.

I had Ramy winning the show, no worse than second. He looked great at the night show, but let's not dismiss the reason he lost. He was spilled over/not lean enough for prejuding. It's happened several times now, the judges have sent him the message yet he seems incapable of learning it.

I just think we've seen him hit a level of conditioning that was a one off, much like Flex Wheeler did  with 93 Arnold Classic win.

That was his best. I dont think he will come close to that again.

This so called detail the past greats had is somewhat imaginary. Did Ronnie's quads have great detail? No they did not, they were just big, the very definition of turnip thighs. Did Yates have feathered and detailed quads? He did not, he was just very hard and grainy and the skin sat nicely on him, which was genetic. He was in fact criticized for his lack of separation in his thighs.
Flex Wheeler had very little detail anywhere due to all the oil he shot all over.

Ramy has this big ass boxy frame that is boring to look at.
Kinda like Cutler. So people try to invent other reasons for why it doesn't seem right to have him beat some of the others. People aren't actually taking a hard look at the pics and assessing his conditioning objectively.

Wrong - Comparatively Ronnie had lacking claves & Triceps - Dorian Arms & Chest thickness.
And Phil's Arms did & do dominate his physique making his Narrow physique look even more Narrow

Through the eyes of the fan- boy, it may be so. If you would be able to look him objectively, you would notice that he hasn't any cuts at all. Smooth as a baby = you are far from shape needed to win competitions. Like dozens of times before, I have to remind you that it isn't a size competition. They have clear list of the things which judges will judge, and by that Ramy end up apologizing his placing

Chad did in fact say he will not carb load Ramy for Australia. Of course I bet he will anyway, to some degree.
Though I don't think Ramy's "problem" is carbs or loading per se. Just gotta get that paper thin skin to begin with, before last second manipulations. The guys who are known for their conditioning rarely blow it completely... because the proper conditioning is there before those last hours. IOW the blame or credit on loading protocols is somewhat misguided IMO. Dorian was a tiny bit smoother in 97 compared to 95 but he was still in crazy shape in 97. He couldn't blow it because he made sure he was ready on time.

Ronnie was kinda sloppy at times. For example in 2003, he was a bit sloppy in places but the size and shape combo was so overwhelming it didn't matter at the time.

Loading isn't last minute, these guys are loading for two three days....

He is overfilled, it's not so much a prep (fat issue) he has lines in his glutes, it looks to be subcutaneous water less than fat. I think you mean ronnie 04, 03 he was pretty tight.

No akim is loading on carbs, but prepping on very low to zero carbs, doing 2200 cals.... Starvation prep, this is what ramy needs but with fuck all load aswell.
