Rob, I also hope you have a speedy and total recovery ... and I gotta thank you for keeping us informed.
And also thanks for your mention of the possibility of coming in contact with this virus in your local casino.
As you might know, I reside in Vegas and 'rob' the local casinos 3-5 times each week ... taking advantage of free buffets, winning at the Blackjack tables more than losing, and sitting at a Buffalo slot machine and hitting the bonus as the stampede gets underway.
But now this virus is the cause of major changes here in town.
A good number of the casino beffets are closing ... with more to follow.
March Madness will still be held ... but spectators and fans will not be allowed to enter.
The NFL Draft will not be postponed in April but the hotel room rates for that event have dropped immensely ... In some cases they have dropped by 80% (but some say 90%.)
Only the brave or the very stupid sit at the casino tables along the Strip which includes me out. (I am not that brave.)
A good number of conventions have cancelled out while some are planning to carry-on remotely via this internet thing.
Schools are shutting down, restaurants are closing, and people are staying at home to watch virus reports and updates on the TV.
Based on my limited knowledge ... I think that Cruise Lines businesses will be annihilated, movie theaters will suffer beyond anyone's expectations, the airlines will spend more time on the ground than in the air, and I won't have my weekly lunch of Fish & Chips at Ellis Island nor beat them at the tables and the slots!
In fact ... every damn business will suffer the consequences because a bat shit in someone's soup.
And since Vegas relies on tourists to stay afloat .... its gonna sink until someone discovers the 'antidope' or unless the sun starts to warm up this town and kills this virus ....and some locals claim that's gonna happen.
(Insert "The Sun's Gonna Come Out Tomorrow" here.)
OK, nuff said ... But if that sun don't do, I'll be saying a few short prayers for everyone who comes in contact with this damn virus!
Get well, Rob!
