Not to add insult to, literally, injury, but I’d suggest decades of rummaging around other men’s gross assholes and gargling ball batter might have something to do with it.

Yep - as disgusting as it is to even talk about
You’re most likely very correct.

Could be genetics. Some people are just plain sickly through no fault of their own.

He's 80 which is past average age of mortality. None of today's guys will see 80. Plenty of healthy people don't make it to 70.

Steve Reeves...dead.

Reg Park...dead.

Elvis...dead.

Hendrix...dead.

Mel Torme...dead.

They are dropping like flies.

One of my favorite vocalists.  His "Comin' Home, Baby" is superb!

As for Dickerson, I just don't care much for him.  He was a buttslut on camera and the WORST Mr. Olympia ever.

This, no one is healthy til 80.... Kidneys and heart function etc all decrease with age.

"GOOD NEWS

We received a call this morning from Bill Neylon, from Florida. Thanks to all your prayers and positive thoughts, Chris Dickerson ia awake, off the ventilator, and speaking. His doctors say there is no brain damage, and things are looking good for his recovery.

As you all know, it will be a tremendous challenge, and uphill battle, but Chris is no stranger to challenges and hard work.

I am sure he will be encouraged by the outpouring of love and concern that so many have expressed. Your continued thoughts and prayers will give him added strength.Thank you all for your great response. – Bill"

Good to see Bill Pearl is still kicking around. This guy was winning contests almost 70 years ago.

Hard to believe that Larry Scott's been gone for about 6 years now, dead at 75 and Bill Pearl is posting on Facebook at 89.

EDIT: Impressive...Bill's Facebook is full of good bodybuilder and strongman history.

If they don’t make it to 70 they ain’t healthy - unless death by accident/ murder/ Suicide
In fact dying at any age means you not healthy as if you were you’d carry on living,
Again unless death by accident/ murder/ Suicide

Duh! It would be weird to die of natural causes when you are absolutely healthy. The authorities would most likely call it a suspicious death. For a long time and maybe still, crib deaths were a mystery. Occasionally, it is reported that someone died in their sleep. Does this mean they were perfectly healthy when they went to bed and just died for no apparent reason during the night? Scary thought...kind of and kind of not. I might be the perfect way to exit this life.

Glad he's doing better. He a major part of bodybuilding history. Competed at a high level for so many years. He had so many joint issues like many bodybuilders do as they age. Back when the AAU Mr. America was one of the top three titles in bodybuilding he was the first Black to win the contest. During the late 70's and early 80's he came in first or second in every professional bodybuilding contest he entered. He was better than his pictures suggested. He had density to his body that made him look carved out of ice instead of soft muscle.

I’d say it is & if I had a choice how I’d like to go out, Fast asleep 💤 & Snoring Like my uncle did
Unlike the 87 passengers Hysterically screaming/ kicking & Crying on the Coach as it went over the Cliff. 😱

On a more serious not my mother died in her sleep - she was in bed & her husband was sitting next to her holding her watching TV, at 7.30 my brother said to her don’t go to sleep mum as your meds are at 8pm
At some point in that half hour she died - her husband didn’t notice & was still holding her hand when my brother went in at 8pm to give her meds & she was dead !!

I remember Arthur Jones commenting upon meeting one of Chris' triplets that he had calves just like Chris despite never training them at all.

Really makes you wonder just how much effort you should put it.
