If people could handle their corona infected elderly mother or grandmother being turned away from hospital to die at home or a pregnant woman getting sent away to give birth at home then we could all just carry on as normal.

Politicians would get hung in the streets though if they let that happen.

It is an election year after all. Hopefully the USA is taking the extra measures and won't end up with an Italy/Spain/France level of cases all at once.

It's gonna keep spreading but as long as the curves are reasonably flat as we are seeing then that's it....

As more cases are recorded we're seeing the real mortality rates coming through, it will be well below 1%

Any more info on that? Is it true? Is there a certain age that sterility happens?

Males don't go sterile by a rule, but they're swimmers slow with advancing age, lots of men can still impregnate in their 70's especially with some help clomid hcg etc....

A respiratory virus making men sterile sounds like total nonsense.

On March 1, 2020, I ran in a 5K with over 5000 other runners in Manhattan. At the start of these races, everyone is crammed into corrals and has to stand there for about 15 minutes. It was my fourth race of this type this year. The point is that social distancing didn’t start until very recently. So, the Virus had the entire winter, the heart of flu season, to do its thing in New York City, which has the largest Chinese population in America, yet at no point did I ever hear about any hospitals being overrun or even that it was an unusually bad flu season.

I’m at the point where I’m laughing at these idiots walking around wearing masks.

Laughing at these idiots? Were there lot of Chinese runners in that happening? Is there somewhere proved that Chinese are only who spread this virus? So how about countries like Island, where is just about 3 Chinese people? How about Mexicos Chinese population? In some point you should understand that covid-19 born in China, but american, european etc. tourist, workers etc. spread it all over the world, when they left China to "get safe" in their own country. Now it is another way around, these people are returning at their work in China, and infect more people in there

This was the first death. Look at the date. Meanwhile we went through the entire winter, Christmas, New Year’s eve, sporting events, concerts, theaters, schools open, offices open, and the first person to die probably had very little social interaction.

ALBANY — Coronavirus has claimed its first life in New York.
A woman with underlying respiratory issues died in Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, Gov. Cuomo announced this morning.
“We had last night a death in a New York City hospital of an 82-year-old woman who had coronavirus. She came into the hospital on March 3,” he said. “She contracted the coronavirus on top of emphysema, then she passed.”

This is a fair point but the panic and hysteria just make things worse and turns it into a self fulfilling prophecy. Now, everybody with a little cough or sore throat thinks they have Corona and is going to head to the hospital.

In fact, I actually know an older woman who was scheduled to have hip replacement surgery and has been “turned away” by the hospital because they’re not allowing elective surgeries until this blows over.

Planned event to tank the economy.  It always has and will come down to money.

The reaction and over exaggeration of the severity of the virus will tank the economy, not the virus itself. Totally planned panic to achieve that result.

I believe the virus is a test of sorts as we move into the post nuclear deterrant age we enter the age of viral bioweapons. Also possible is the fact that some1 so.ewhere has intel that terrorists might be planning attacks with similar viruses.

Of course the most doom and gloom is simply that covid19 isnt going anywhere and once it finds and intermediate host to mutate and reinfect us we will have to deal with a new pandemic of it every fucking year until it kills us all.

China may have releazed the virus into its own population knowing how to handle the outbreak as a deterrant againt the US leveraging sanctions as well as food (china depends on us for food much more than we depend on them--well on second thought now we depend on each other them our food us their medications and supplies against the boogeyman virus)

Even in a situation where your life is in real imminent danger... we can behave as big strong full grown men. Every person here will survive this. I for one, hope to look back and be able to say, '...I was never afraid, I never behaved poorly, I never spread fear. I behaved as a man...'

I want to know because I am at home depot and i just realized something- there are still how many "illegal aliens" who are looking for work right this second? Men with established lives and families to feed.

Because i have a sinking feeling this "pandemic" is potentially (could) be used in his agenda against them.
