Government implemented a quarantine.

I started working from home today.

It feels like a weekend when you have to take work home. To be honest, it sucks. Too many distractions. But hey, at least I can take work home. A lot of businesses are being hit hard since they can't open their stores.

Also it's boring as hell not being able to go out. You can only go to the supermarket and pharmacies (commuting to work is OK but not all jobs are allowed).

Bought 2 weeks worth of food yesterday. I assumed people would panic and hoard goods and that's exactly what happened. They caused a shortage but it lasted less than 24 hours (I guess I was part of the problem).

All in all, at least I'm not sick. Hopefully I won't catch Covid-19.

Many of my team already works from home - but I asked all offices / managers - to tell their teams to work from home.

Ive worked from home for 1 1/2 years. Im at top level management.

The first 6mths.was.awesome. after that it has been very mentally challenging as everything is much quieter.

My advice, take up a hobby to keep you occupied on the side.

I’m sure your company would rent you a small office if you asked. If not - just rent one yourself. It’s an expense - but if it makes work easier then you will be more productive. It should only be a few grand a month.

I've been told to work from home indefinitely for the upcoming weeks (possibly months). Still continuing like normal outside of that. I can see my gym closing soon though too.

All schools and universities have been shut down in my state for at least another month. Semester was due to begin on Monday for me and I was ready to go, so basically, all I need to do now is write final exams.

The official decree hasn't stopped egomaniac lecturers from thinking their classes are more important though. Got a group email yesterday in which a team of people were talking about comandeering a building next to the campus so they could keep their classes running. I really don't get it.

And it's going to be a total shit show going forward. Things in Germany generally work well, until they don't, and then it's complete chaos. The uni is already talking about working Saturdays, not having the summer vacation, working upcoming public holidays - I'm interested to see how this plays out.

For now, I'm basically sitting at home waiting on updates.

(and my wife is sick with symptoms consistent with the virus so neither of us are going out. We've self quarantined.)

Hahaha do you have a receipt for this bath mate? Just want to be sure it wasn’t purchased second hand on pro muscle before I use it haha

Might as well be. -Son-in-law wants everyone to stay home for the next two weeks at least (it is my home, BTW) so we don't get each other sick. He's in full psycho-panic mode right now. Oh joy! If I go for a walk he'll probably have the locks changed so I can't get back in.

Work out of home already most of the time..
The company I work for doesn't provide office space.. I get a monthly stipend to work out of my house.. Sales have gone to the shitter.. Too many people over panicking.. Oh well.. There goes by quarter bonus..

... and the kids are out of school until at least mid April. Its definitely been.... Interesting.

I feel the biggest problem with being home is that you don't know when this will be over, it feels like getting a prison sentence but not knowing for how long

The government has shut down most of society by telling people an invisible microbe is out to get them. I guess that is how freedom disappears without a shot. Never mind that the sum total of all the other diseases that we have grown to accept take out millions of people a year. Man this is right out of a sci-fi movie. I'm sure there has been one about this already.
