all to save the lives of mostly old , fat and chronically ill people , but it's ok, entire world economy destroyed , millions unemployed , billions effected , mass suffering and possible food shortages , all to save a few thousand people

It's not that simple.

Just started as a senior account exec for a new company a couple weeks ago. Over the last three days all their sales for the next three months have been cancelled. As a result I was let go along with 4-5 other people. I thought this virus stuff was a joke but I actually lost my damn job.

Hopefully I’ll go back in 2-3 months but who knows.

Blackstone and Redcon are always looking for sales guys some make big money. Always wondered why Vince G never moved down there, he could be excellent at it.

Yes I have savings put away. No I do not want to start my own business…ever.

No I don't want to work for a supp brand lol…I just spent 5 years as an RSM for GAT Sport. Stayed about two years too long. I broker for a DMAA, Sarm, and Pro brand now. Great side hustle but thats all it is. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I had a ton of offers roll in before accepting this last position. I just reached back out… No one is actively hiring for the time being. I think everyone is in a rough spot. My friend runs a hotel and just laid off practically everyone. Anyone that was kept had hours cut to 16 a week.

I’m sorry to hear about your situation bro. This is a very uncomfortable time. Keep your head up, you’re going to find something better and this company will regret these decisions (if they’re able to stay afloat after this).

And so...the bolded part of your first sentence explains the problems in the rest of your post. For at least the rest of the year trying to rely on somebody else to take risk so you can do what you've always done is out the window.

Losing a sales job isn't possible. The art of selling simply means you convince someone to buy something. So just insert a new product or service in place of the one you last sold. Voila- new job. In fact you aren't a salesperson worth a shit if you need someone to employ you at it.

My first "sales" job was after I bought a tractor trailer load of high tech but obsolete tech gear from a factory that closed down- all for the princely sum of $600 since it was being scrapped. About $20K later I realized I was now a salesman, haha.
Very true.

Gay for pay wasn't effected by the HIV so I'm sure it will survive Covid 19.

Are you saying you didn't lose any business?  :)

Maybe your state has 'Work Share'. Work Share provides an alternative for employers and workers who may be facing the prospect of a lay off situation. With Work Share, instead of reducing staff, an employer reduces the hours of work for a group of workers. Partial Unemployment Insurance benefits are then paid to supplement workers' reduced wages.

I hear what you're saying but it could be a lot worse. At worse case they have estimated it could kill a few million in the USA if allowed to spread unchecked.

It sucks no doubt! The economy is going to suffer big time from this!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/worst-case-estimates-for-us-coronavirus-deaths/ar-BB118txk

The C.D.C.’s scenarios were depicted in terms of percentages of the population. Translated into absolute numbers by independent experts using simple models of how viruses spread, the worst-case figures would be staggering if no actions were taken to slow transmission.

Between 160 million and 214 million people in the United States could be infected over the course of the epidemic, according to one projection. That could last months or even over a year, with infections concentrated in shorter periods, staggered across time in different communities, experts said. As many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.

And, the calculations based on the C.D.C.’s scenarios suggested, 2.4 million to 21 million people in the United States could require hospitalization, potentially crushing the nation’s medical system, which has only about 925,000 staffed hospital beds. Fewer than a tenth of those are for people who are critically ill.

So it’s pick your poison?

Crash the medical system or crash the economy? We saved lives only so they could end up homeless and destitute....

If it's the last thing I do in life, I'll be posting on Getbig. Too bad for those few jerks who have tried to chase me off this board with their innuendos, lies and insults.  ;D
