You know, there are some really smart people with relevant formal training who are working with Coronavirus in one way or another. Let's call these people Rorys.

Apart from the things I mentioned, Rorys are normal people with social media, post on forums, etc. They're very easy to find on Twitter.

Every Rory I've seen agrees this is a big deal.

To claim you laugh at "the losers who buy into this bullshit" is such a narcissistic and idiotic post that makes my blood boil.

I really hope you're right that this is all BS, but chances are you're not.

PD: Someone may argue that my observation about Rorys is biased, since alarmist news spread easier and thus there's a bigger chance of crossing across them, but when all of them are bad news, it would be foolish to not take them seriously.

The potential seriousness of covid19 lies mostly in the unknown. We are always at great risk when a virus jumps species and was not previously known to do so. Evidence of said seriousness canbe seen in the uk where they are basically allowing the virus to run its course in the interest of developing herd immunity. So if the virus does mutate and become much, much worse, at least mankind will have a stronghold that will have been exposed and stands a better chance of survival than the rest of the world which has zero immunity whatsoever.

In all honesty, id probably infect myself if i could right now. I dont like to gamble, and betting the virus never mutates and just goes away is probably -ev even though natural selection favors weaker mutations the spanish flu proves viruses are unpredictable and id feel safer with any modicum of immunity versus nothing.

World leaders will be forced in to deciding between the economy and saving lives. It's a dammed if you do and dammed if you don't situation.

Comparing COVID-19 to the common flu and pneumonia is fine as long as it is a fair and honest comparison. Your calculations are missing one key factor and that is how quickly COVID-19 has spread. We don't yet know what the numbers will be over the the course of a year. How many people died from the flu or pneumonia, (not related to COVID-19) in three months last year or even this year during the past three months which is how long COViD-19 has been publicly known about. So the figures of 20K and 50K are false figures right now. Make and realistic an accurate comparison and post your findings on Getbig.

Yep. The primary cause of death appears to be failure of the lungs to absorb oxygen. If you have diminished pulmonary capacity you are at very high risk. Just like every other influenza before this.

I’ve been saying the problem was used as a pretext for currency devaluation. My scenario even explains why so many draconian measures had to be taken. Had there been a sensible approach of say isolating the sick and elderly and the rest of us just washing our hands and not coughing on anyone, that wouldn’t have required stimulus and massive QE. The economies had to be disrupted.

In fact, now that the deed has been done, Trump was on TV today recommending my approach.

I was out of line with that last bit but the point is the response has been completely over blown and it was done for a reason, to devalue the currency. The elderly and the sick just need to be isolated. The rest of us need to wash our hands and not cough on anybody. We didn’t have to shut down the entire country. In fact, all of this fear and hysteria has made things more dangerous to those who are really vulnerable as everybody with a little cough is now reporting to the hospital thinking they have corona. I’ve heard that of the people showing up over 95% don’t have it.

The United States stimulus bill is up to 2.5 trillion. When you’re talking about that kind of money there’s always going to be a lot more going on than meets the eye.
