No, I wasn’t.

You responded to this so were largely referring to this pandemic

And the MENSA candidates of Getbig.com (when they're not busy posting and masturbating to pictures of bottom heavy coalburners) provide us with their expert medical opinions regarding the gobal future and economic impact of the pandemic. ::)

Which is ironic as a month ago you were saying this and have yet to admit you were wrong.Every major country has said we must work together and practice social distancing or face the consequences.Very opposite of doing nothing or not worrying about it.Your terrible advice could have literally got people killed who read it and decided to follow it.

Why is Army of One so obsessed with this?  ??? ??? ???

It’s not like there is anything he can do about it.

But nothing you can do about it. Worrying won’t change anything.

We shouldn’t talk about it because it’s a waste of time.

This sounds like fear mongering.

So, basically, despite your fear, you’re really helpless against the disease, other than stocking up canned peas and carrots.

This is why I said that worrying about it is pointless because none of us could really do anything about it. But if buying canned goods makes you feel more comfortable, so be it.

Waking up to what?

Either way,  there is nothing you can do about it. Whether you are right or wrong, will not prevent you from getting the actual virus.

Everything the CDC recommends, I already do—wash your hands regularly, goid hygiene, etc.

What else can I do, other than live in a bubble or never leave my home. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ I’m not saying this is not an important thing, but worrying about it or discussing it to no end seems rather pointless.

i know what you meant, but you were largely applying it to this recent pandemic. My point was Ive seen many random people online on different sites, who called it better than most of the experts out there.Largely because they were able to put the readily available information together, along with common sense and life experience, to predict where we are now.You are correct most here were wrong and will never say it.

Actually, you cannot "call it" until it is game over and we certainly aren't there yet.

Ok! Good luck!

https://www.citylab.com/equity/2020/03/coronavirus-immunity-racism-history-disease-yellow-fever/607891/

Lining’s medical briefs became the reference manuals for another physician, Dr. Benjamin Rush, when in 1793 a yellow fever outbreak took hold of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which at the time was the nation’s capitol. Close to 20,000 people — half of the population — fled Philly that year, while many African Americans actually stayed in the city at the request of Rush, who wanted to train them to nurse, care-take, and dig graves for the thousands of people dying of yellow fever.

Rush was operating on the belief that black people were immune to the disease, and black Philadelphians believed him when he told them that they were. Rush not only was an outspoken abolitionist, but also friend of the black clergymen Absalom Jones and Richard Allen, founders of the African Methodist Episcopal church, and two of the most influential African Americans of the time.

Jones and Allen helped convince black people to stay behind to assist Rush, telling their congregations that it was their Christian duty to help care for the lives of white Philadelphians. But Rush was wrong. Many of the African Americans in his medical camp contracted the disease. Hundreds of them died. Allen became afflicted and almost died himself. While Rush was a highly respected doctor — the American Psychiatric Association would later title him the “father of American psychiatry” — he was relying on faulty claims about race and health conditions that proved fatally wrong. The Philadelphia massacre became an abject lesson in what happens when race gets bandied about amidst the rages of a major health maelstrom.

As Dr. Rana Hogarth wrote in her book Medicalizing Blackness about the 1793 yellow fever outbreak in Philadelphia: “The idea of innate black immunity placed an undue burden on the city’s black inhabitants. For those black people who did stay behind to help, it meant buying into a belief that at its core defined their bodies as being distinctive and unequal to whites.”

Are you encouraging your fellow man to break the law? Maybe you hadn't heard several states are on home confinement also known as "shelter in place." In Oregon you can be fined and get up to 30 days in jail for not following these orders.

Here is a list of allowed places of business:

Hospitals and health care
Grocery stores
Banks and Credit Unions
Pharmacies
Take-out/delivery from restaurants and bars
Pet stores
Gas stations
Certain retail stores
Outdoor activities like walking your dog, jogging, or biking in your neighborhood
Child care facilities and babysitters (only if abiding by new rules)

Here is a list of what is not allowed:

Social gatherings (parties, celebrations) with people from outside of your household
Dine-in restaurants and bars
Nightclubs and concerts
Shopping at outdoor or indoor malls and retail complexes
Fitness: Gyms, sports and fitness centers, health clubs, and exercise studios, dance and yoga studios
Grooming: Hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, day spas and massage services, non-medical wellness spas, cosmetic stores, tattoo parlors
Entertainment: Theaters, amusement parks, arcades, bowling alleys, music concerts, sporting events, museums, skating rinks
Outdoors: State parks, playgrounds, campgrounds, pools, skate parks, festivals

Here's what going on in New York state:

As the number of positive coronavirus cases surged above 7,000 in New York, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Friday ordered employers to send workers home after Sunday evening, effectively shutting down all businesses except for essential services.

He also told individual New Yorkers to "remain indoors" in a series of measures he called the "ultimate step" to stop the outbreak.

California:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a statewide “stay at home” order in an attempt to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in the state. The move, which asks all Californians to remain at home unless they have essential reason for going out, comes after officials in the Bay Area introduced some of the U.S.’s most stringent restrictions by announcing a “shelter-in-place” mandate on Monday.

Not at all. Our president will bring us out of the bullcrap lies by Easter. I think what we are doing is overreacting. Pansy Newsome, and Cuomo are acting like cumrags about this. In the end its just a bit worse than a flu.

Yes this is a bad idea. Go out and spread the virus so older "white men" can catch it and die. That's attempted murder. We'll see how immune black people are. Apparently Idris Elba caught it.

Do you all want to know truth? Few truly seek answers they already know. You cant be happy with your head out of the sand. I suggest those who are truly intelligent stay that way. For the morbidly curious I shall give you what you claim to seek.

Last year Tuberculosis killed 1.5 million people. It is estimated 1/4 of the worlds population is carrying tb. It can remain latent for some time, spreading, waiting for opportune time to strike.

Last year AIDS took 770,000 lives globally. An estimated 38 MILLION people (1.7 million of which are children) currently have this disease. About 21% dont even know they have it.

Tip of the iceburg but we, the fortunate, are due to reap what we have sown very very soon. Its going to be devastating and heart breaking. Our political leaders see it coming and are trying to get us out of hot water while we have the time.

Trust and believe, covid19 is going to decimate tens of millions of people in africa india and other poorly developed countries. In the end it may bring something close to world peace, but only after we feel our hearts break. The whole developed world is going to feel this one. And we have no choice but to do whatever we can to help.

Most of you have no clue and youre happier that way. I understand, i was like you once.

Your wakeup call to reality is coming faster than you can imagine. Covid19 is poised to dramatically change our species in ways we cannot really forecast and its going to be very unpleasant.

Keep on keepin on with your daily rhetoric
Gee whats the hourly infected tally at today hmm lets all talk about it. And how miserable we all are. How this is a hoax, or whatever bullshit you believe.

You have seen nothing. Human suffering the likes of which we have not seen since maybe smallpox is around the corner.

And we made it happen. We left half the human race behind and forgot they even existed. I am as guilty as any. But the tragedy thats coming...there is your answer. The future of covid19 is tragedy. Tragedy on a scale none of us has ever imagined.

When the numbers in first world countries level off and fall short of expectations, the focus will shift to poor countries where people are dying of malnutrition and this will be attributed to Corona.

Here’s a fun fact: the amount of money that has been printed because of this is equivalent to the GDP of Japan.

Only a naïve doofus wouldn’t think that there’s something else going on.

People are aware something is up they arent sure exactly what but they know it must be something.

Id say when images of orphaned children starving in the streets by the thousands hit the media people will wake up and realize how petty their problems are. Maybe then at least theyll stop complaining. At some point I expect the half of the world I have been blessed to have been born into to come to the aid of the less fortunate. The less fortunate we all helped create.

I have no doubt the Lord is in control and I have faith in Him. In the end things will work themselves out and for the better in many ways. The blood that needs to be shed to make things change is on our hands. Thats the cold part. If we could go back 10 years and invest in education for these countries, how many lives could have been saved? If you think about it, you could probably put an actual dollar amount on each life. What would it be I wonder?

Probably much less than we think. Trump knows and i imagine hes feeling regret. A few million wasted here or there over the years, how many lives could those millions have saved now? How many billionaires have wasted money that amounts to actual human life?

Its all conjecture on my end right now, time will tell. Hopefully we take these quarantine measures seriously quickly. Because the resources we have ramped up were not really meant for us in the first place. The longer we take the more people that are goi g to die its that simple.

Thats my opinion anyway.
