Corona Sweden
« on: April 01, 2020, 02:12:03 PM »
Sweden is criticized for not using legal prohibitions, lockdowns, quarantines etc. in the fight with Corona.

I dare to say our softer policy and recommendations for social distancing work pretty much the same as many other countries much stricter policies.

Sure, some people ignore our recommendations - but I know a lot of people get fined in countries with stricter policy too. I also know people commit crimes in spite of facing 200 years in jail or death penalty. Prohibitions does not work in itself, they only work when people embrace the reasons behind them, find them meaningful and feel they are part of the community around it.

You can't keep total lockdown for several months, but what we are doing Sweden can continue as long as needed without too much negative effects on society, economy etc.

Swedish people are not the ones being subjected to a big social experiment, it is a much larger experiment to lock up entire populations for several months. Nobody knows what happens to public health and the economy (which in turn has a strong impact on general aspects of public health) when you have several months shutdown and force people to isolate themselves and / or stay indoors.

In Sweden we don’t need the legal advice to make people do things because of cultural traditions. Here the word recommendation translates "clear and informed advice". Therefore, 97 % of Swedish parents are vaccinating their children voluntary and most people are now practicing social distancing voluntary, because we find it important, because we trust our system and because we trust our fellow citizens.

Swedish measures on Corona might change to stricter if needed, but we trust in our authorities and experts to be the judge of that. I am so proud and feel so lucky to live in county that not only put their trust in science and authorities, but also in their people <3

Take care you all, wherever you are. This is not a a competition and we will get through this together.

Sweden is the most lax of all. Not enforcing anything like you other countries do.

We are "adviced" to do things, like, try to avoid big groups of people , don't cough or sneeze in the face of the elderly and other riskgroups etc and nothing more. Nothing is forced.

Many people (our special guests) do not follow that advice (or any advice) for that matter and cough in the faces of the elderly and gather in big groups (which is why many somalis died recently)

I am doing my part and try to hold my distance (at least 2 metres if possible) away from others, i also wear mask and gloves when shopping.

You mean was? Now they are in panic because their lax attitude is killing people faster than in any other Scandinavian country. But every cloud has a silver lining: By the swedish news most of the covid 19 cases there has spread among the somali -emigrants, who as a group, are so arrogant and stupid, that they haven bother to learn the language. Most of the warnings, orders etc. has been in Swedish, so there is a slight problem. On the other hand, these people live in close communities, lot of folks per apartment, and that has helping the sread this virus. In other words, I don't like or want this virus, but it is a part of evolution which I want to see.. ;D

The French didn't bother asking their "diverse" neighbourhoods to lockdown. The virus is rampant there too.

Another community getting nailed are the Hasidic Jews in London

Most Somali households here have 8+ people living together and they don't care for learning swedish, so the Järva-region (Rinkeby, Tensta etc) got hit bad with the Rona.

They've been very arrogant as well, having parties and celebrating together when someone got ill, some people even gathering to pray to their god.

I mean, their religion probably tells them to still go to their Mosques as well

Now they say it isn't enough with just translating to their language.

I wouldn't mind if the whole Järva-region was taken out, but don't spread it to others please! :D
