'“We know that over 95 percent of these deaths occurred in those older than 60 years,” he said, with more than half aged over 80.

Kluge said more than four in five of those people had at least one other chronic underlying conditions, like cardiovascular disease, hypertension or diabetes.'

You won't catch this in the news, the media will be covering the very unfortunate minority cases, like the 13 year old British boy (rip) Anything to stoke more fear and hysteria....

I noticed here (Aus) they rarely mention the ages of the dead on news reports, also doesn't fuel the fear when death after death are elderly. Better to just not mention age. Media scum of the earth.

Given that most older people are more likely to vote that younger people that is not good news for any politician heading in to an election

I agree that media often focus on bad news, and exxagerate things (For click bait etc)

There have been 16 years old who died here in Europe, but that's very rare and exceptional

Still: people who have been infected can have irreversible lung damage: if they sit still, they are fine, if they walk up a stairs they are out of breath. Not pleasant to have that for the rest of your life.
(It's apparently damage caused by the high number of infections in someone's lungs, or because very large parts of the lungs have been infected / damaged)

What the fuck are you talking about?

How could irreversible lung damage be established as caused by a virus that's barely 4 months old??

here are two reports of the deaths of the medical staff in Italy, the first contained their ages, it was taken down and the ages removed after people noticed some of them were in their 90s and had not even been near a hospital

Italian prime minister said only 15% of their count is directly related to Corona. Neil Ferguson (of the horribly inaccurate model fame guessing 2.2 million Americans would die and 500,000 in the UK would die) revised model to 20,000 would die in the UK and 2/3rds of those would have die anyways. I am absolutely amazed on how many people got so easily swayed into giving up so many of our rights and destroying people's lives/economy by this. It is mind-boggling.

There are a ton of articles now showing how a death is recorded when Corona is involved. Not the norm in the least. Inflating numbers and still not high.
They should put those who die because they cannot go in for supposedly "elective" surgeries and it would be more accurate.

Many will die in the future due to doctors going out of business.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-31/italy-s-mild-flu-season-may-solve-mystery-of-coronavirus-deaths

The government has struggled to explain the new coronavirus’s outsize toll in Italy, where the death rate has exceeded China’s. It’s possible that the lower mortality earlier in the winter “led to an increase in the pool of the most vulnerable” who were then exposed to Covid-19, according to the Italian report, which analyzed data from 19 cities through March 21.

In the northern cities that have borne the brunt of Italy’s more than 12,000 deaths, overall mortality among people age 65 and over was 6% below a baseline from previous years. In the cities of central and southern Italy, the deaths were 3% below expectations.

I have spoken to a lung specialist here in The Netherlands, the damage was more much substantial than they had anticipated

The young people dying either have undiagnoes conditions or in most cases they get Pneumonia that leads to an over response by the immune system and then they get ARDS. Basically mucus, dead cell matter and inflamed lung areas build up and cause oxygen intake to fall. Thats what they are trying to treat with Hydroxychloroquine and zinc. It should be treatable. Its about stopping your own body attacking you.

I just read it.... It's fucking trash

Some Chinese Drs looked at twelve patients.??? Are you kidding me??

it's the constant barrage of nonsense like this from the media that I'm talking about.... And unfortunate people ( such as yourself) cannot see through their lies and exaggerations and are made needlessly fearful. It is a total disgrace.

Nice! It is simply amazing how many are headline readers and do no digging of their own. On this subject they have been strangely trustful in how the media/government is portraying this.

Yeah, the Coronavirus and seasonal flu mostly kill old people. The 2009 H1N1 Swine Flu pandemic,in contrast, killed younger people.

"We obtained weekly virology and underlying cause-of-death mortality time series for 2005–2009 for 20 countries covering ∼35% of the world population. We applied a multivariate linear regression model to estimate pandemic respiratory mortality in each collaborating country. We then used these results plus ten country indicators in a multiple imputation model to project the mortality burden in all world countries.

Between 123,000 and 203,000 pandemic respiratory deaths were estimated globally for the last 9 mo of 2009.
The majority (62%–85%) were attributed to persons under 65 y of age.

We observed a striking regional heterogeneity, with almost 20-fold higher mortality in some countries in the Americas than in Europe. The model attributed 148,000–249,000 respiratory deaths to influenza in an average pre-pandemic season, with only 19% in persons <65 "

There’s actually an article on BBC right now about how dangerous the virus is, really. It’s very interesting and seems to be the most unbiased of any of the major news outlets.

As bad as the Chinese virus is, it isn't the end of the world. But give it time- there's a lot more where that came from, lol

(Check the date on the article by the way)

I watched an interview with Bill Gates who praised China's efforts against the WuFlu and their brilliant data of 0.1% fatility then in the very next breath goes into our lack of testing and how we are so bad........

I have an idea Bill, how about you work on preventing the cause of the mutations in the first place? Ahhh no money in it for him. Instant dislike and i unfriended him on Facebook.

BTW China opened up the wet markets as their locals chucked a hissy fit..... do the French still want to hug Chinese people given how little fucks.they give about the rest of humanity?

Very small minority of cases reach ards most of which die, he was speaking like its a commonplace issue.
