Right now it’s pretty cheap

Why the personal attacks and not a civil discussion, a man your age I would expect to be more courteous

You'll have to undergo a 14-day quarantine in your hotel. Prices are down but travel way, way down. Mostly just returning islanders. Hawaii, and the governor, has made it quite clear that we don't want any visitors to the island.

And what personal attacks? You call me, sarcastically, a Chinese/Black and then cry because I ask if you are one of those shallow thinkers.

In-N-Out burger is one of the things that I most miss about living on mainland. That along with Trader Joes. Props to you. Great burgers. Eating there is when I first appreciated fresh ingredients. I had no idea how much just having fresh lettuce on a burger makes such a difference.

And what does a business struggling have to do with my preferring their products? A local restaurant here that had the best plate lunch on the island and they went out of business last year. They still had the best plate lunch.

X2

I’m not bashing America as a whole, just pointing out the struggles and what the country has become, as far as preferring X brand to another, I don’t have a problem with that, again just stating a lot of the issues that these car companies are dealing with and mismanagement as a whole. A company like VW is thriving because they took a chapter out of GM when GM was on top of the world decades ago

I feel like they actually did a disservice to the American public starting in the 70’s and said a big fuck you when profits was more important than quality

Presently, corvettes, mustangs, are the best they ever produced in a long time, but I actually think it might be too late as a company as a whole

I stand corrected

As far as that, I thought you’d be proud of being chinese since you obviously have ancestors who are, just a guess

My grandparents, my parents, and I have zero to do with the Chinese culture. My primary ancestors come from the Philippines and England/Ireland. How about you? What is your race/ethnicity? And don't just say White. Be more specific, unless you are ashamed.

Interesting

Both parents,  and I born and raised in Munich, Germany.  Immigrated to the US to CA at a young age, didn’t speak any English just German as it was my first language

Hmm, thought you were from England for some reason. My brother is in Germany and just retired about six months ago but decided to stay there indefinitely. He and his wife, and their bulldog, really like it there. Lives in Schonaich.

I think the point of that argument is, however you try to boycott china and buy american, alot of american companies buy from china for parts, labor etc.

https://www.quora.com/Which-are-the-companies-that-contribute-towards-making-Apple-products

Apple have most of their PRODUCTS assemble in china because its cheaper, and that is just assembling, they probably buy parts there too,  i'm pretty sure ford, chevy, etc are doing it because most companies will take the cheaper service/goods.

Hell, are you on "TRT"  because all pharmaceutical testosterone raws are from china.  this is why i was for Trump when he was starting to tariff china for importing and exporting,  But until then, most us companies are still in relations with china for goods/merchandise/services

BOYCOTT china all you want, BUT THE TRUTH is American companies are being made in other countries, and some parts come from china.  BUT YOUR SENSE is honorable, buy US, and support our country.

pellius,

Out of curiosity, in the past, how come you have been annoyed with my "racism"?  I only put that in quotes because I HATE that word, because it is nonspecific, and means NOTHING.  I try to use specific words and terminology when talking about things.

You could argue that I have anti-Black views, anti-Indigenous views, anti-Muslim views, and anti-Jewish views.

For the most part, I have no problem explaining my views on the first three.  The anti-Jewish views are slightly more complicated, as the negative Jewish behaviour that I speak of is not relating to their day-to-day behaviour, such as rates of violent crime.

It is more to do with the fact that Jews have been historically heavily involved with things like communism, and then when that causes a backlash [Hitler - who, historically, is BY FAR not the only person who has taken issue with Jewish geopolitical crime], Jews use their extensive clout in media and investment banking to make it out to be like Jews do nothing wrong, and White people [and Muslims] hate them for NO REASON at all.

And I'm sorry, but that's absolute BS.  It massively oversimplifies the very complex White/Jewish and Muslim/Jewish history, and purports Gentiles to literally have some strange brain disorder where we hate on Jews for no reason at all.

And I resent that.  So if you're wondering why I take issue with Jews, to the degree that you think I do [and you're not completely wrong about that, but none of my views were arrived at simplistically or slowly], that is a portion of the reason.

My views regarding Blacks, Indigenous people, and Muslims relate more to their rates of violent crime.  For example, 90% of interracial crimes in the USA each year [about 900,000 out of one MILLION interracial crimes in the USA each year] are committed against White people.  White people are BY FAR the biggest victims of interracial violence, in both percentage terms AND absolute numbers.  So as a White man, I resent constantly hearing about how White people [particularly White straight men] somehow "oppress" people of colour, who literally RISK THEIR LIVES to flee their own inferior countries to live around Caucasians?

Why WOULDN'T I resent that, pellius?

White people literally clothe, feed, and hitherto CODDLE non-Whites, while simultaneously being accused of somehow "oppressing" them.  ::)

NEWSFLASH: NO ONE FORCES THESE PEOPLE TO LIVE AROUND WHITE PEOPLE.

They live around White people because THEY TOO prefer it.  So for THEM to accuse ME of being a "White Supremacist" is rather rich - they want to escape non-White society and live far away from it just as much as I do!

I hope that clears some of my views up.

Having said that...when have I ever expressed any sort of negative views towards Asiatic people?

Asians are probably literally the only race I DON'T take issue with, LOL.

I suppose the Chinese economic colonialism of other parts of the world - even here in Canada's west coast - concerns me somewhat...but, as a White man, I don't think I'm in any position to complain about advancing one's race thanks to colonialism, LOL.  Seriously.  :)

Other things - like Chinese pollution - may concern me somewhat, but Chinese production exists to the extent it does in no small part because White people [including and ESPECIALLY hypocritical White liberals/leftists who believe in things like fair trade coffee, and paying a "living wage"] heavily demand cheap Chinese electronics and other consumer goods - I recently read that something like 90% of Western medicine is made in China!  If true - wow.  :o

But when did I ever say anything negative about Asians/Asiatic people, pellius?  :)

Lol, I'm serious when I say that Asians may be the only race I have NOT bashed.  And I include White people in that list!  I'd say I have said far more negative things about White liberals/leftists and White people in general than I have EVER said about your race, haha.

I'm not a jealous person, but I would honestly say that I am a bit jealous of the extent to which Asians are collective compared to Caucasians/Europeans, and they are far more altruistic towards their in-group that Caucasians are.  You won't much hear me ever criticizing Asians.

So out of curiosity, why did you take issue with my "racist" views?

PS - God, the Japanese must be laughing at the West right now.  ;D

Does that mean if I come down to Hawaii I won’t have a place to stay or sushi to eat since we aren’t friends?

LOL.  Have you watched the Ironage Rom-Com "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"?

It takes place in pellius' state of origin: Hawaii.

In the scene literally a minute before this one, the question you asked above gets answered:

LOL.

The movie is not on the Canadian Netflix, but was on Amazon Prime up until February [I just didn't renew it when my annual membership expired].

But yeah, essentially, in the scene literally just prior to the one above, Sarah [Kristen Bell] asks Rachel [Mila Kunis] if there is any place to get sushi near the hotel they are in [in Hawaii], and Rachel pulls out a map and tells her!!

Perhaps you have watched this Ironage movie.  If not, you can revisit it for an answer to your question!  :)

[the above is an example of an autistic answer from me, even though it makes sense...sort of...well...other than the fact that it's just a movie, and the locations given may have been fake/scripted].

Japanese car companies assemble cars in America to avoid tariffs often imposed on foreign cars made outside the U.S.

It's got nothing to do with the quality of American workers.

American car companies use large amount of foreign made parts.

The new Ford F-150 truck plant in Michigan is just an assembly line.  Parts for the F-150 are mainly foreign made.

I worked at a GM plant in the late 70s and half the workers on the line were stoned.  Crates of poorly made American parts were piled to the ceiling waiting for re-work to make them usable.

The American car industry was protected from foreign competition by high tariffs on foreign cars.  Once these tariffs were lowered in the 70s the Japanese kicked our azzes. The American car companies had to compete on a level playing field.  They had to improve the product which was comparatively poorly made junk to survive.

Much of the problems in the American car industry were a result of the adversarial relationship between management and the union workforce.  They hated one another.
Try motivating a worker to perform better when he hates your guts, usually for good reason.

You've probably heard stories of management declining to spend and extra 50 cents per car to prevent a serious safety issue in a car model.  They would also decline to take steps to correct quality issues.

Put that together with stoned workers and you make crap.

It's easy to tell you have zero experience in business. Supply chains are already being rerouted and a number of my main vendors are sourcing outside China. A lot of them have said this was the last straw. The trade war will escalate after the 2020 election and China will suffer a depression. So much for your Islam theory.

You are correct. Having spoken to a few people who work in supply chains the move away from China was already happening. Vietnam, India, Bangladesh and surprisingly Mexico were proving to be popular places for new factories and cheap labour.

I still stick by my Islam theory though.

PS - God, the Japanese must be laughing at the West right now.  ;D

Where have I given you the impression that I am annoyed with your racism? And for the record, I am against racism. My prejudice and bias are against certain kinds of culture. I despise the inner-city Black culture. I don't despise Blacks per se. I've mention many times that the two people I most look up to and have done the most to shape my world view is Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams (his student), both whom happen to be Black. There are tons of Chinese I am friends with and like. These are Americanize Chinese. I've always hated the low brow aspect of Chinese. So pushy, rude, penny-pinching, and dirty. The sound of their language is just torture to me.
Same would apply to White Trash. Those filthy ignorant hillbillies with their fat, white hoes wearing those white tank-tops with their flabby tits spilling over with every other word being "fuk".

Although you said it was a good question you've always avoided answering. Tell me, what do you want to do with the Jews? Not what you think the Jews should do but what do you want to do to them to make them less powerful as that what seems to bother you the most.

When I see someone, or some group, become disproportionately successful I don't resent them in the slightest. I want to find out what they are doing right and how they beat their competition. I don't bring myself up by bringing others down.

Then don't buy American and support foreign countries. And Unions make business much harder. LOL @ half the workers being stoned. The quality took a dive in the late seventies and eighties when we impose tariffs which reduce competition and less incentive to compete. This is 2020 and America makes great cars. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia also make great cars. Cars are so much better across the board. It's a matter of personal taste. I'm just surprised, well, actually I'm not, how so many Americans are anti-American.

You can like and buy any car you want. I don't care. Nor should you care what I prefer. I was happy with my Toyota (owned two), my Nissan, My Chevy and my Ford which I liked the best and will give Ford my first priority when looking for a new car.
