Home Training Ideas ?
« on: April 06, 2020, 07:41:37 AM »
After I get over this 4 week cold I want to start training again. I got rid of all my equipment years ago so I have none.
What are others doing ?

i am looking at these: all the bands combined take the resistance up to 90 Lbs, attaches to the door as well.

20 JJ
10 push up
20 air squats
1 min plank

Do set 10 consecutive sets.

Or:

200 box step ups holding weight
run 1/2 mile
5 consecutive sets..

Tons of possibilities

I made a thread on march 8th about Coronavirus stopping you from going to the gym.

So you guys had almost a month to get a home gym set up.

How can you be serious about training when you think a set of rubberbands will do? You're embarrasing.

Get a proper home gym set up and stop living like some 80s aerobics fruitcake.

If I was stuck in the house and didn't have a rack, etc...., I'd buy a set of #80 - 100lb spinlock dumbbells and keep them in the closet. For training, I'd look at some of the better kettlebell programs or the Javorek Complexes* that were popular in Olympic lifting. Not the most ideal way to train if you're a bodybuilder, but it should supply enough training effect to keep you straight for a few months -

Explaination of the Javorek stuff -

It may seem a bit odd, but he's got the resume to back it up - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Istvan_Javorek .

I actually do not own any free weights, and have been getting alone fine with resistant bands. Elitefitness has great resistant bands. But, if this goes on for months, I may have to purchase some free weights.

If it goes on for months you can tie your bands to a tree because you won’t have a place to live.

Why no place to live? In Oregon we have a temporary no eviction ordinance for the duration of this pandemic. Other states, like Florida, should have something similar. Anyway, if nobody has a job, it make no sense to evict tenants because the place would stay vacant....and home to squatters.
