If it’s really you I don’t see why not but now isn’t the time to start planned for a show unless all of your ducks are in a row. All NPC shows in the country are cancelled until AT LEAST May 10. I’ve pulled out of my prep for the Nationals and that’s in July. If you can’t train right then there’s no point.
Coach, everyone else is effected in their training as well.  Someone is going to win the Nationals in July and it could very well be you.  How many others have given up on the Nationals as well?  Some guy half as built as you may take home the trophy.

There is life beyond just bodybuilding.  Train to be a savage.  Train for function and being a killer.

But will the victory ring hollow because of the corona?

Will there be an asterisk after Coach's name in the record book?

I don't know why it would.  It everybody else quits and you don't why should it feel hollow?  Do Super Bowl champs who won the title during a strike shortened season feel any differently?

Every time Coach looks at that plastic trophy he'll have doubts.

Yes but in a physique category. Not a bodybuilding one. Once you lean out you'll see you don't have as much muscle as you think. It happens to everyone the first time they lean out drastically. I was much smaller than expected.

Going on a pre-contest, strict weight loss diet, with intense cardio, etc. can potentially weaken you immune system.  Is this really what you want right now?

The exception is for someone doing a keto or carnivore diet, where you eat when you are hungry and you eat until you are full.  But that isn't necessarily a pre-contest diet.

Back in the day when contest dieting consisted of 4-6weeks of prep no matter what shape you were in that would be true, but nowadays with most taking 12-16 weeks to prep plus eating 6-8x perday that's a hard argument to make.

Op you are fatter than I am realistically you would drop about 30-35lbs OF FAT to compete. Another 10-12lbs to dry out. I highly highly doubt you can handle that mentally. Youd be dieting 16weeks.

Personally do what im doing run a cut until you get to 10% and re-evaluate. Youre not at the should you or shouldnt you stage yet.

Or crash and burn its your time body and fate.

Anybody can compete. Whether they can be competitive is another question that is hard to answer when you ask people to evaluate your physique without actually showing your physique. That tells me you probably have a flabby gut. The arms always hold out the longest when you get fat but the chest and back fade fast and the legs smooth out quickly.

If you want an honest assessment then be honest with us.

Can you put on some lighter spandex, can’t see the bulge well enough to see if your stage ready. Have your training partner hit them with a spray bottle a couple times to make it “pop”

It's amazing to me to how people don't realize what a weak argument this is.....

I read on another forum how Dex is an idiot being 50 years old and still competing in bbing for "just a plastic trophy." From just his last two shows Dex has won $120,000. This doesn't count the contracts and appearance which has made him a millionaire.

Not bad doing something that thousands upon thousands of people do for free: train six days/wk, juice, follow a strict diet.

This also doesn't take into account that being successful in doing something you love, committing yourself with discipline and drive, is very fulfilling in life. When people just looked at the monetary value of a trophy or medal and not what it represents just shows how shallow and vapid they truly are and probably have no experience in sports or just was never successful at it.

If you take into account all the pros and amateurs combined, how many bbers are like dexter? There’s only one in the history of this thong war
