Hi Pellius - hope you’re staying safe and healthy !
At least the weather has been good. Fighting the urge to go on an ice cream binge.
As far as the virus situation here, every day we get an ominous report but when I compare it to other states we don't seem to be doing so bad. We just got our 7th fatality today where the patient was described as an "older, medically fragile woman". A grand total of 36 thus far have required hospitalization. We are now "up to" 343 cases on the island with two diagnose outside the state (not sure why they are counted since they are not even here). That means that we still have to have another 657 new cases to go before we can reach that "crucial" 1/10 of one percent of the people infected in the state. Of those who have been infected 285 are classified as recovered so we still have a whopping 58 people actually infected with 22 at home in quarantine. Yet, everything except grocery stores and medical facilities are shut down and it's like a ghost town here.
I'm hoping that with all the precautions people are taking for themselves, unlike anything before in history, we can open up in May but still keep the island under quarantine so we don't get infected by foreign travelers.
