Fire Stick Question - Buffering Issues
« on: April 12, 2020, 11:29:32 AM »
Hi guys.......been really enjoying my fairly new Firestick but had recently encountered bad buffering issues.

In an effort to rectify this I went on YT and found a tutorial video to help me out.

As I followed FUCKFACES instructions I came to a point where I deleted all my content as he recommended and brout it back to default with the intentions of re-adding apps.

Anyway after this step I was supposed to synchronize my remote to the TV.....................d id as he said and got nowhere fast.

Went to Google tried all their recommendations and still nothing.

I was so pissed I went to Amazon and ordered a new one.

Any suggestions (keep it clean lol) cuz I could use this one in my bedroom if I can fix the bastard?

Thanks

Can't really be of much help other than to say just do what you did with your last firestick.

Old people  ;D ;D ;D

Don't buy a new stick.

The buffering probably wasn't a firestick issue and likely would have resolved itself. If not just order an adapter/extension so you can connect it via an ethernet a cable.

The synchronizing with the firestick remote is almost never an issue. Just unplug and replug, take out the batteries and try again.

You`re probably right I should have mjust waited it out.

I unplugged,re-plugged,held the home button for 10 seconds or more, moved the remote closer to the Firestick............... even touched it with the remote while holding down the home button and a put in new batteries and a ton of other shit that didn`t work.

Yup I`m old and I`m a persistant old bastard so I`ll keep on trying until I either get it to work,or simply kill my wife.

Yeah it`s not bad.........$70.00 a month.............pretty fast much better than the last company I used.

My former ISP.............to watch a 5 minute YT video I could shower, jerk off, cook dinner, get laid, eat, and by the time I did all that the video would still be downlosding............. ....RIDICULOUS.

Download the fire tv app on your phone. It's basically a remote and try use that for now to set up the stick.  Make sure the phone and stick are on the same wifi connection

OK here we go with a few dozen more "old" jokes LOL   ;D

I do have a cell phone but I never wanted or needed a smart phone so I dont have one.

I only use the cell phone I have for emergencies like if my car broke down or something or I got stuck in 10 feet of snow miles from home.

FLAME ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111

If it is a buffering or cache issue, there is something in settings that lets you clear it up.   We have done that, and it starts working again.

But also, there probably are so many people on the internet during that time that it is creating an issue for that hour or so

This may help...

Ron it was buffering I have been clearing out my caches periodically to allow for more space.

I  should have just waited it out as someone said above but I`m determined to get that sucker working again.

Thanks buddy !

I had mostly free movie channels and a few sports channels.

For some reason, it gets stuck once in a while, especially if you have more than one Fire Stick on the same account, and other people are watching various shows.  It tried to remember where you left off, etc.

Sounds like you need to do a clear cache, delete thumbnails and purge packages... Don't know much about fire stick but you need to download the addon installer and get the maintenance addon... This also may help if your firestick keeps buffering - https://www.firesticktricks.com/fix-firestick-buffering.html
