"At 5'11 and at 235lbs, Jimmy the Bull benched 1,015lbs! He described the experience as if he just went through a black hole, because he blacked out for a second. Jimmy also does dumbbell fly benches with dumbbells that weigh over 200lbs."

I met this guy once and will personally guarantee you that there is no way on earth he has ever legitimately benched anywhere near 1,000 pounds.  He's a big bullshit talking wop from long island.

The weight was coming down, he blacked out, the spotters lifted it off of him, when he awoke, the weight was racked so he assumed he lifted it.

The idiot probably bounced the weight off his chest with two 4 ply denim shirts on.
It's just part of his philosophy, check it:

PART 4- QUOTES FROM THE BULL

 1) I use a lot of body momentum in my workouts. A lot of guys don't believe in that. They believe in using super-strict form and isolating muscle groups. To me that method isn't really practical. Think about life in general. When you do tasks such as taking the garbage out or lifting your bag into the overhead compartment in a plane, you use your body, not just one body part. When I train, everything I do, I use body momentum. For example if im doing a seated dumbbell press, When you're doing big muscle groups such as the back, it's really difficult to isolate. You're using your biceps, rear delts, and core muscles. The only time I'd recommend isolation exercises is when you're injured. Then you can use light weights to help the muscle repair. If nothing is hurt, I like to use power momentum like an Olympic lifter.

Along with two other spotters, I've actually spotted Jimmy before on one of his 1,000lb lifts.  Needless to say, I dead lifted about 300lbs that day.

Jimmy is a big bull shitter, but he's actually funny as hell...

When you go into your backyard at night and look at the stars with awe, you do so because there's no end. If there was an end, would you go in your backyard and look at the stars the same way?

Amazing that he temporarily fooled the MetRx guys into sponsoring him briefly years ago.  This guy's high school guidance counselor told him to be an enforcer for second tier staten island mob crew.  What a douchebag.

I think his chest broke and then fell off the last time he did the 1000+lb lift cause I don't see it anywhere.

I saw Jimmy lift many many times in the early & mid 90's. He was a big strong dude, but... ;) He was very funny and always had a good time in the gym. Sure he trained hard, but he knew how to make it fun. He was a perfect Hollywood 'big noisy loud Brooklyn guy'.

I say, "Long live the Iron Bull!"

To even attempt 1,000 lbs requires great strength.

So what are his true stats?  I'm going to guess he can put up some big numbers (albeit not 1,000).
he's probably a legitimate mid 500's bencher which is damn good considering that he's not all that big.

"I benched 1015 pounds with a spotter, I do 150 pound dumbbell curls and tricep kick backs with 150 for 20 reps, 455lbs skull crushers, 155lbs lateral raises. Lifters should come to my world."

HAHAHAHA, come on now...tricep kickbacks with 150 lbs for 20(!) reps?
If he would half those poundages, i'd find it believable/realistic, right now i'm VERY sceptical to say the least...

Peace

No not really.  I have seen him do this and the spotters are liftin well over half the weight.  I was waiting for to take his hands off the bar and the bar hang there.

this is maybe the most bullshit ive ever seen in one place at one time...i bet he couldnt bench even 5 plates raw....flys with 'over 200lb dumbells'? it would be great to see him attempt this and watch his arms get ripped off.

i bet Jimmy has 'gone through many black holes' in his lifetime

I would look more often, to make certain the end wasn't getting nearer.

Jimmy has torn not just one but both pecs. Still, he puts himself under 5 plates and with a rather narrow grip (18" or so) busts out a few half reps.

He trains like an idiot, but he IS super strong. Shaking his hand makes you feel like a puny human, LOL. Also, he is a very nice guy.

He occasionally trains at my gym, and I bump into him around town at the supermarket and such.

This would be a good time for a Billy Carpenter story if you've got one...

Jimmy really is a hilarious guy.  Try to imagine the typical NY attitude and add roids.  I remember having dinner with him and some other people at some fancy NY restaurant once.  We were all starving after working at a trade show all day surviving off MET-Rx bars.  Anyway, it took hours to get seated and hours for the food to finally arrive.  And when it did, all hell broke loose.  You see, Jimmy was expecting a MONSTER steak.  Instead he got a petite 8oz cut.  Needless to say, after causing a scene at the table, he proceeded to go back to the kitchen and threaten the chef's life unless he got at least 2 lbs. of meat on his plate...ASAP!  LOL!
