Well, I am likely uneducated about this, but I don't see how we can continue to dole out any money when many businesses are going BK and more people are unemployed.

Maybe we can do it for a year but at some point, it catches up.  Then we have to make drastic cuts everywhere.  China becomes stronger.  I don't know that gets stopped either way.

I could be wrong about this, but I think he said the remainder of the $2,000 House Democrats originally approved in December, which would be $1,400. He was quoted as saying to top off the $600 bringing the total to $2,000.

According to US unemployment stats, the high was back in April when it reached 14.8. The most recent figures I can find are for December which put it at 6.7 or less than half of the high.

Absolutely false.  The "top 1%" already pay a disproportionate percentage of income taxes.  Even if you took 100 percent of their income it wouldn't solve our economic problems.  This "fair share" stuff is an absolute lie.
