Someone mentioned the benefit of having a kid with Richard Gere's DNA. What's so special about his DNA? He is one fellow among thousands in Hollywood who got 'discovered', became actor and had a few moments of fame as a result of getting catching a lucky break when he landed the lead in American Gigolo ....end of story. I have nothing against the guy, but handsome actors are a dime a dozen in the movie industry. He does have a great head of hair. But, his DNA can't guarantee that will be the case with his offspring.

This sure seems to be true. Sometimes you see a homely child with attractive parents, but not that often. However, one would hope good genetics produces more than just an attractive exterior. Good health and intelligence are also genetic IMO. Recently saw a photo of Gloria Estafan's daughter, Emily. She looks a lot like her mom and something like her dad. She is musically gifted too. No surprise there. All three are reasonably attractive people.

Agreed. I had a friend in high school whose dad was near 75. Needless to say he ended up fatherless as a teen.
