Five incidents were reported in San Jose between 3:15 and 6 a.m. on April 22. San Jose police said the suspect smashed the windows of Lee’s Sandwiches at 2525 South King Road and 2471 Berryessa Road, 7 Leaves Café at 1743 Berryessa Road, Tastea at 1610 North Capitol Avenue and Pho Y #1 Noodle House at 2050 Concourse Drive.
That same morning in Milpitas, the suspect also smashed the windows of three businesses on the 200 block of West Calaveras Boulevard, according to Milpitas police.
Burglary detectives identified Tai Van Trinh, 42, of Milpitas, as a suspect in the incidents, said San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia in a news release Monday afternoon. Garcia added that an initial investigation found no evidence the incidents were hate crimes.
