I will miss the cheaper gym prices, but I preferred it a decade plus back when local gyms were priced at £50 a month and not as packed. Look forward to returning to those days.

Also these dumbbells  have proven to be money well spent. You don't need anything other than these and a chin up bar during lockdown.

Agreed.  After this, I think more people will be buying home gym equipment.  I was caught flat-footed when my gym closed, but I was able to buy a bench and some dumbbells before the rush started and prices took off.  I'm limited to what I can do at home, but it's better than nothing.
I hear you,,,same thing for me I have perfect pushups, dbells 15 ,20,30,35,60,50:and bench that inc and flat ,bands I use them all and have kept up same size for now.

Are you all fully recovered now & back to everyday life.
How long did it last with you?

Hope you are all good now.

I’m gonna say prob had it 3-4 weeks,I was feeling pretty good up until yesterday(worked a 12 hour day and got home and felt horrible) when I started to feel like I did in the midst of it.Little better today but some anxiety thinking it never left me. But yeah I’ve been good for a few weeks now.

Still have no interest in going to a gym though.Ive got a flat utility bench with dumbbells 25,30,35,45,60,80 and 100s so I’m good.i was training in my buddys basement prior to this and he has lots of equipment and was going to gym 1-2 times a month to mix it up but I prob won’t enter another gym for a few months even if they open soon cause everyone and their mother will be rushing to gyms I imagine.

People flocking to the gym may not be the case. I suspect many people will be reluctant to engage in activities which could possibly expose them to other folk's germs. As much as there are a lot of people pushing to reopen and begin economic recovery, there are also many who will be quite cautious in this. My guess the recovery is going to take some time.  We may never return to the way things were prior to COVID-19.

Are cities with smaller populations in Missouri, like O'fallon more or less likely to open up sooner rather than later? Counties in Oregon must meet certain criteria before they can begin the process of opening back up. Smaller cities and counties are more likely to be able to do this. At least, this is the current thinking.

Gyms need better advocacy groups so they can be necessary and open businesses like pot dispensaries.  :D

...at least like dispensaries on the west coast and a few other areas.

Ofallon is in St Charles county (population ~400,000) that has eased restrictions. We border St. Louis and St Louis county that have not eased restrictions. Less incidence of Covid-19 in St Charles county than the city.

Glad to hear that you’re pretty much over it. The 12hr shift does hit home hard, that I know as I’ve been doing some recently & some night waking shifts, it catches me & feel real lifeless/ tired.
Hopefully some good food / rest / sleep you’ll be back firing on all cylinders.
Not so good to hear you’ve little interest in going to gym / lifting - I’m chomping at the bit & struggling now not going. - it’s not doing my mental state much good either.

👍🏻

I would hold off a few weeks.

I can maintain plenty with my KBs. They were however given to me by a friend who owns a gym so once "lockdown" is over here in the UK he may require them back pretty quickly. There is no sign of the gyms opening in the UK anytime soon anyway! When they do, I would go at 7am. The gym opens at 6am but 7am is always quieter as a few train 6-7am then head on home/to work.

Wish I had bought those Bowflex dumbbells years ago. They are sold out everywhere and selling for over $1000 used. Is yours the 90 lbs model or the lighter version? How durable are they? Can they be dropped fully loaded like normal dumbbells?  Do you have the stand and if so is it steady?

I'll be getting these for sure but who knows when you'll be able to get them again at normal prices. I have not worked out for 2 months now but do walk for exercise. Physically I weight the same and can't really notice any atrophy yet. However I am sure that will change if I don't start lifting again soon. I'll be building a quality home gym as soon as possible.

I prefer to work out anywhere from 11 pm - 5 am and usually have the gyms all to myself. Occasionally I'll go during peak hours but probably won't again for the foreseeable future.

Spoken like a true flame-broiled phaggot.

The only thing not returning to the way it once was is your blown-out O ring.

For me it's about getting out of the house and enjoying the eye candy.

I'd be happy just getting out of the house and going somewhere besides the grocery store.

The bowflex dumbells suck. The ring you rotate to select however many pounds (lol) is the first to go and not necessarily only because you drop it.

Wow man that must be nice. Owning a home gym and all while the less fortunate sit at home and suffer. You should build a juice bar to go with it so you can hit on fitness chicks while you muster the strengrh to post on getbig.

90lbs. Can't drop them, but at that weight you shouldn't really need to. No stand, but I have a small cheap ass reinforced wooden coffee table with a rubber mat on it which I use and that's been working great.

I do wish I had added some fixed regular heavy dumbbells. High reps for chest can get boring as fuck.
