Are you a smoker?

Long term Smoking can kill your senses of taste and smell and make you lose your interest in eating.

SF1900 I'm glad you're negative, are you being screened for any of the potential side effects that can come with asymptomatic covid19 ( blood clots forming in your lungs for example)?

I somehow missed this post but it is a very important one. I was mistakenly under the impression that asymptomatic covid positive tests were a sign that a person is home free. My cousin passed away from a series of strokes and finally a massive heart attack the day after Easter. Turns out it was blood clots behind his demise. Post mortem we learned he did have covid-19. Lesson is that all positive tests should be taken seriously. He never knew he had it to begin with.

Good News!

Scientists at the University of Oxford say they have identified a drug that can reduce coronavirus-related deaths. Wouldn't you know, it is a steriod. If the finding is borne out, the drug, a steroid called dexamethasone, will be the first treatment shown to reduce mortality in the sickest patients. It might save hundreds of thousands of lives, eventually even millions, altering the course of the pandemic. Three-quarters of hospitalized Covid-19 patients receive some form of oxygen. The drug appears to reduce deaths of patients on ventilators by one-third, and deaths of other patients on oxygen by one-fifth.
