You are right in saying 'they' and not everyone is getting $1,200 or possibly $12,000 total in the next 6 months.

The Forbes article you cited reads like an idiot's pipe dream. Maybe I am wrong and I'll be $12,000 richer at the end of the next 6 months. Right now, I'd be happy to the $800. stimulus check which was approved promised me.

All these executive order laws from mayors and governors is completely out of hand. The only one that should have that power is the President. Laws on the fly is tyranny from hundreds of politicians. Yes, but the cost of living is much lower.  Businesses in the coastal states have to pay their employees much more or the employees couldn't pay their rent/mortgage.  Because of these higher wages there are more taxes collected as well as federal income tax is uniform across the nation.
