I greatly enjoyed the 80's at the time.  I guess those who were in high school in the 70's cringe even more especially over the goofy clothes.  We are very lucky not to be growing up today with the mind fucking they are doing to the kids.

Every era has a special time in music, clothes and how you partied.  The 80's was so much fun for me.  I was coming out of the late 70's disco era and into the New Wave dance music. The fashions from the late 70's were so different from the 80's. 


I was scrolling and I saw this thread. I just watched Back to the Future a couple a weeks ago. What a coincidence.

I was just watching a documentary about how during the 80's it was our entertainment industry, they mentioned Batman, Simpsons, Rambo as well all the other fashion and entertainment that invaded the Communist culture and got people yearning for freedom and the lifestyle that Capitalism affords. They mentioned how the East Germans were able to illegally get American programming from West Germany. They realized there was an alternative way of life other than the grim Communist society.

The 80's were really a great time and it's staggering how much came out of that decade, from entertainment, technology, culture... it changed everything and set a new standard. I remember when music vids were just these lame productions where you just see them on stage playing. When Michael Jackon came out with "Thriller" it changed everything. I know to this generation it was nothing but in those days it gave you goosebumps.

Yes! We only had two TV-channels back then as well! (Here in Swe, and our programs were mostly crap )
