I have been on a real anti-tech thing lately. I was a rural kid in the 80s and the promise of the tech was better than the actual implementation we have now.

In the 80s...summer as a kid you would ride your bike 10 miles half through the woods to a KOA campground....all to play the two video games they had, rent a paddleboat for 30 minutes and buy a BAG of cheap candy for the ride back for a 10 spot.

THAT was fucking living my friends...not sitting in the A/C looking at a tablet on the couch.

Humble Narc and others, I've been in and out and all-around actors nd the movie business for a large part of  my larger life-time and have been on many seats that you have sen on the silver screen .... but I still have a hard time telling a good actor from a bad actor.

I'm gonna name some names in my humble attempt to tell you how long it's been and stupid I am when it comes  to the goodness or the badness of motion picture starz.

Let's start with EDWARD EVERETTE HORTON! You most  likely don't recall that name but I can almost guarantee that you've seen his face in a few old time motion pictures ... even possibly during the 80's when his old movie were often repeated.

He amazed me because he became someone who he was not whenever a camera pointed in his direction.

Mr. Horton might take you back too far ... so try to recall James Garner who existed in the 80's (I think). Jim was also someone who he was really not when he worked on the studios... and for some unknown reason he'd apologize to me every time he fucked up a line.

I have family members who work as apes and other very strange, Superhero creatures and when they get home after work they sometimes do their best to stay in character for the next day's shoot .... but the younger kids always end up complaining, "I want my daddy back!"

I guess that's pretty good acting.

Getting off track  but I think that them-thar 80's actors  were just as good them-thar today.

But it is possible that I just can't tell the difference.

The 80s was a very special (but fantastic) era

Not just in movies, but in music, fashion and hairstyles!

The 80s are still a huge part of today's pop culture, and most teens know Back to the Future, Rocky, Madonna and everything else.

Few young people in the 80's gave a shit about early 1950's pop culture, and other than maybe Rebel without a Cause and the one 50s radio station with Bill Haley and the Comets and Buddy Holly they would listen to as a goof,  few would know movies, songs, tv shows or anything else from the 50's because they had a cool 80s pop culture of their own, which is still around and relevant.
