So many lawsuits coming out against the state. Problem is the courts are closed. How convenient is that for the state?  Go ahead and sue us...oh wait. You can’t.

Man, I don’t think I’ll have to do anything, it’s already being done here for the most part. Police more and more aren’t enforcing orders, businesses are opening up regardless of orders, constitutional lawsuits are flying all over the country and ones filing are winning and it just keeps going.

Coach, the more I think about this, the more I think you should get involved in the fight.  You seem very passionate about this cause, and you're the one who started this thread.  Even though others are already fighting the fight, there is still much to be done. 

So, what is the game plan, and how will you contribute in the fight?  I would recommend starting with your face piece.  Throw that thing in the trash.

My guess is the future such incidences will be ignored. The governor's reopening plan is so complicated that it is next to impossible to know what you can and cannot do. For example stand alone businesses all over the state can open, but malls and shopping centers whether indoors or out, cannot. Some types of businesses are not yet able to open unless they are in a county where it has been approved. Gyms are an example of this. All of the different gyms I can go to are in the Portland Metro area and are therefore not yet allowed to open.

The reopening of these counties and businesses can be revoked if the number of COVID-19 cases increases dramatically. Folks living in the Portland metro areas are advised to not travel outside the are to, for example, get a haircut. Ikea is a stand alone store which is allowed to reopen, but they closed prior to it being required and have elected to delay opening. As of today, no reopening timeline has been announced.

If she takes this to court, it will likely cost her more than $14,000. If she wins, she'll prove a point. If she loses, she'll be out $14,000 plus whatever she has to pay an attorney plus court costs. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

You are mistaken. We've been trying to get "loser pays" laws for over a decade now like they do in Europe. It is promoted as a way to get rid of these frivolous lawsuits. As it stands now, you can sue anybody for anything which is why big companies just end up paying off the crybaby as it's not worth the cost to fight it. If the loser had to pay people would think twice before they decide to sue.

Corona Virus Attacking Nursing Homes With Poor, Unsafe Infection Track Records in L.A. County

     The vast majority of skilled nursing facilities battling outbreaks of the novel coronavirus in Los Angeles County have been cited in recent years for violating federal safety rules on preventing infections, according to a Los Angeles Times analysis of nursing home data.

     The new site’s review found that 89% of facilities with the coronavirus had previous infection control violations that ranged from mishandling patients with highly contagious bacterial infections to not properly cleaning ventilators and other equipment.
