I believe it was in play before this. Even liberals despise Mayor Bill De Blasio and Cuomo has been damaged by the Nursing home scandal.  The reason Hillary did so well in 2016 is because she was a senator in NY and lives in the state. Biden has no connection to New York and has zero enthusiasm towards his campaign. I wouldn’t bet the ranch on Trump winning but it’s going to be a lot closer than people think.

What is the real deal with these protests in NY and the damage being caused?  I see the news and it looks scary, yet those people at restaurants seemed oblivious to any large group heading towards them.

Are the size of protests/damage overstated? Do NY'ers as a whole feel it isn't a problem worth worrying about yet?   It takes a lot to lose a political stronghold of a city, you make a valid point about Biden so if NY is truly bad and crumbling, will it become a republican city?

Inner-city blacks correctly smelled weakness in the police force and took advantage of it.  There is still protesting going on but now that the city is no longer shut down, the protesters can’t block off streets. From a protesting standpoint it really isn’t that bad as the BLM protesters are mainly white liberal  post-collegiate morons. They’re more of a pain in the ass than anything else. And given the size of the city there aren’t enough of them to  disrupt  many areas.

That said, quality of life in the the city has been going downhill for years under left wing Democratic leader ship. So the recent events accelerated what was already happening.

For New York to go Republican, you need a perfect storm of events. One of which you already have: a decline in quality of life. We’re also gonna need Republican force of nature candidates for NYC mayor and NYS Governor, like Rudy Giuliani, or Trump,  to win over enough votes to turn the city and eventually the state. It’s a long shot but not impossible.

New York State has about 20 million people and only 1 million Jews. Blacks and Hispanics are about 6 million. The working class part of those groups are what need to be turned to make NYS red. In the past, Republicans just wrote those groups off and handed them over to Democrats. Trump is actually competing for those votes. I predict he’ll get more black and Hispanic votes than any Republican candidate ever.

The Georgia man arrested for stabbing a stranger last month claiming that he “felt the need to find a white man to kill” after watching videos of “police brutality,” has murdered the white cell mate he was placed with following his arrest. Jayvon Hatchett, 19, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime after stabbing a random AutoZone employee in late August. Following his arrest, he was placed in the Muscogee County Jail.

If convicted for the initial stabbing, Hatchett could be one of the first people sentenced under a new Georgia Hate Crime Bill.

On Saturday, Hatchett murdered his white cell mate at the county jail, 39-year-old Eddie Nelson Jr.

Nelson was imprisoned for violating probation for failing to report as a sex offender.

Hatchett’s initial stabbing was one of two hate crimes against white men inspired by Black Lives Matter in the same day — both ignored by the national media.
