You young guys probably don't remember but the only way to follow bodybuilding was through magazines back in the day. You often had to wait months to find out who won the Olympia.  When I was dating my girl who is now my wife see saw all my bodybuilding magazines. She thought they were gay porn.  She said none of her four brothers were remotely into bodybuilding. She was vaguely aware of the activity but thought it was some underground sub culture. She wasn't far off. Her brothers were into football, baseball and other real sports. What convinced her was all the weight lifting I did. She said if I wasn't into lifting she would have thought they were fag magazines.

Kinda understandable - imagine visiting her and she has heaps of magazines where it's all about the biggest ass & tits combined with "in your face" photography.
Despite that - women can get away with way more than men in the sexual department before they're branded odd.

Dorian wasn't the best bodybuilder of his era, all lats and a belly like a cow.

Kinda,but he had signature poses that literally popped and somehow he flowed into them effotlessly and so did his weaker body parts.off season he was a monster his legs looked massive but contest time they were less so but his calves made them balance out .
