Looks to be on the rise in India about 300 deaths per day last week, last 24 hours was 2 000 deaths.
Unless they are just behind on reporting no of deaths

Nearly 1.4 billion people in India so you can't really tell much from numbers like 300 deaths and 2000 deaths, but hospitals are said to be close to reaching capacity.

They won't be doing any more lockdowns either (I doubt anyone will) so it basically the Swedish model from now for everyone.

I read on BBC today they have a drug that is cutting the death rate to a third for those on ventilators and to a fifth for those on oxygen.

The reality looks slightly different when the data is looked at in a less sexy way.

1 death in 25 for those who require oxygen and 1 death in 8 for those on ventilators are prevented by the drug.

I either read it wrong or wrote it wrong. I read it as it cut it down to 1 in 5 not the other way around.

It's more how articles on this are being written.

100 people on ventilators, 40 will die on average.

Give a 100 people on ventilators the new drug, 27 will die on average. Those 13 out of 40 lives saved is how they got the 1 in 3 figure.
