Oh no.  We're back to the "wait a few weeks" bullshit.  FL has been open for 2 months now. Where are the bodies?
Things that have happened in the last while.

Mass protesting.
The lack of wearing masks and social distancing. Especially younger people.
People needing to get out and finally have had it.

Ex fucking ponential growth. Some states are going to be in trouble.

Live updates: Coronavirus hospitalizations skyrocket across Sun Belt as Fauci warns nation is ‘still knee deep in the first wave’

Hospitals across the Sun Belt continue to be inundated with coronavirus patients, with Arizona reaching 89 percent capacity for ICU beds on Monday, as Alabama, California, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas also reported unprecedented numbers of hospitalizations. For the 28th day in a row, the country’s rolling seven-day average of daily new cases shattered all previous records, though the number of deaths nationwide has remained relatively stable.

The United States is “still knee deep in the first wave” of the coronavirus outbreak, Anthony S. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Monday. Unlike Europe, “we never came down to baseline and now are surging back up.”

At least 2,926,000 coronavirus cases and 127,000 deaths have been reported nationwide since February. The Trump administration hopes that Americans will grow inured to the growing death toll and accept the tens of thousands of new cases being reported each day as the new reality, three people familiar with the White House’s thinking told The Washington Post. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.

Yawn.

But seriously, I hope Fauci gets run over by a bus soon. Fuck this guy

Confirmed coronavirus cases in the US top 3 million

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States surpassed 3 million on Wednesday.

But U.S. health officials say the real number of infections is probably 10 times higher, or close to 10 percent of the population.

The U.S. reached the latest milestone just 28 days after reaching 2 million confirmed COVID-19 cases. As of Wednesday, the U.S. has recorded at least 3,009,611 confirmed cases, with at least 131,594 deaths, according to statistics gathered by Johns Hopkins University.

Tuesday witnessed the highest daily spike in coronavirus cases since the pandemic reached the U.S., after more than 60,000 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed across the country over a 24-hour period. Nearly half of all new cases in the country over the past few days were documented in Arizona, California, Florida and Texas.

Numbers have been surging in recent weeks amid a rapid expansion in testing, but experts say the rise cannot be explained as just the result of more testing, according to The Associated Press.

President Trump has argued that the number of cases is increasing in the U.S. solely because of an increase in testing, ignoring warning signs or a worsening outbreak — including the recent surge in COVID-19 hospitalizations in the South and West, as well as an increase in the percentage of tests coming back positive for the virus.

Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the nation’s top disease expert, said in a press conference on Tuesday that highlighting the declining mortality rate for the coronavirus in the U.S. created a “false narrative.”

But Trump touted the mortality rate again on Twitter Wednesday, writing: “China Virus Mortality Rate is among the LOWEST of any country. Shaping up for a good third quarter, and a great next year! NASDAQ at new record high, 401k’s way up!!!!”

U.S. reports record single-day spike of 60,000 new coronavirus cases

The country reported 60,021 newly confirmed cases over the previous 24 hours as outbreaks continue to expand across a number of states, mostly across the American South and West. Arizona, California, Florida and Texas have accounted for nearly half of all new cases in the U.S. in recent days.

The record spike comes after daily new cases fell below 50,000 over the past few days, though some public health officials warned there could be a backlog of reporting due to the July Fourth holiday weekend. The U.S. has reported about 51,383 new cases on average over the past seven days, a record high seven-day average, up nearly 24.5% compared with a week ago, according to a CNBC analysis of data collected by Johns Hopkins.

Top health officials, including White house health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci have lamented in recent days that while many other countries succeeded in shutting down and reducing daily new cases to a manageable level, the U.S. has failed to do the same.

“The European Union as an entity, it went up and then came down to baseline,” Fauci said Monday during a Q&A discussion with Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health. “Now they’re having little blips, as you might expect, as they try to reopen. We went up, never came down to baseline, and now it’s surging back up. So it’s a serious situation that we have to address immediately.”

Fauci said last week that the U.S. is “not in total control” of the coronavirus pandemic and daily new cases could surpass 100,000 new infections per day if the outbreak continues at its current pace.

“I can’t make an accurate prediction but it’s going to be very disturbing,” Fauci told senators at a June 30 hearing held by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. “We are now having 40-plus-thousand new cases a day. I would not be surprised if we go up to 100,000 a day if this does not turn around, and so I am very concerned.”

But the U.S. probably isn’t diagnosing all infections in the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said, because some people remain asymptomatic and never get tested. Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the CDC, has said the U.S. is probably diagnosing 1 in 10 cases.

Former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb, however, said earlier this week that the U.S. is probably catching an even smaller portion of all infections because some areas with major outbreaks don’t have enough resources to test everyone who wants to be tested.

“The CDC says we’re diagnosing 1 in 10 now,” he said Monday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “We’re probably more like 1 in 12 because these states are getting pressed and we’re falling behind.”

Cases were growing, on average, by at least 5% in 37 states as of Tuesday, according to a CNBC analysis of data collected by Johns Hopkins. CNBC uses a seven-day trailing average to smooth out spikes in data reporting to identify where cases are rising and falling.

Coronavirus-related hospitalizations are also up, on average, by at least 5% in 24 states, according to CNBC’s analysis of data compiled by the Covid Tracking Project, an independent volunteer organization launched by journalists at The Atlantic.

Gallo has received two positive and two negative results within the last 10 days.

PCR tests aren't all that accurate. You could pop positive for having a coronavirus that caused a cold. Hence why you hear a lot of "so and so tested negative....then they tested positive with a 2nd test ...."

It's a cluster.

But of course now states and the CDC are putting antibody tests and PCR tests in the same bucket.....inflating positive tests counts

Still no time to feel good about the virus especially if you live in the USA, Brazil, India or Mexico. Other countries still have a big problem as well.

^^ My thoughts as well.  I figure I either have it right now or already have.  Have zero symptoms whatsoever.
The only precautions I take is that I won't visit my parents until this shit is figured out, as my parents are in their mid 60's and my mom is the only contact my 99 year old grandma has with the outside world.

Coronavirus Live Updates: Death Tolls Rise in Some U.S. States, Signaling a Possible End to the National Decline

The death toll is edging up in several states, possibly ending months of declining national death totals.

The U.S.’s daily number of deaths from the coronavirus has risen recently in some of the nation’s most populous states, signaling a possible end to months of declining death totals nationally.

In Texas, officials announced 119 deaths on Wednesday, surpassing a daily record for deaths in the pandemic that the state had set only a day earlier. In Arizona, more than 200 deaths have been announced already this week, and the daily virus death toll in the state reached higher than ever. Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, South Dakota and Tennessee also set single-day death records this week.

The seven-day death average in the United States reached 608 on Thursday, up from 471 earlier in July, but still a fraction of the more than 2,200 deaths the country averaged each day in mid-April, when the situation in the Northeast was at its worst.

Who is reporting these cases?.. and to whom?

What are the symptoms these people are experiencing?

How many of these tests are false positives?

Who owns the testing companies?

How many ppl have had full recoveries?

Asymptomatic my ass.  Now we're all sick even though we don’t know it?  lol

First Seattle volunteer in human COVID-19 vaccine trials says she feels 'fantastic'
by Suzanne Phan

The race to develop a COVID-19 vaccine is heating up globally and right here in our area. In Seattle, we’ve got a lot of companies and volunteers doing their part to try and help.

“It’s been 16 weeks since I had the first dose," said Jennifer Haller of Ballard. "I feel fantastic."

On March 16, Haller, a 43-year-old a tech startup operations manager, became the first person in the country to get injected with the experimental COVID-19 vaccine.

It’s developed by bio-tech company Moderna and National Institutes of Health.

“This vaccine uses messenger RNA," Haller said.

Maryland man may be first person successfully vaccinated against COVID-19
By Isabelle Friedberg | New York Post

A Maryland man believes he may be one of the first people to be successfully vaccinated against the coronavirus after participating in a trial that has reported promising early results in producing antibodies, according to reports.

David Rach, a graduate immunology student, was the first person to be injected in the trial at the University of Maryland in May, where US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and German firm BioNTech are working together in the global race to create a vaccine, the Daily Mail reports.

Now, early indications show the vaccine is working by stimulating the growth of antibodies at rates equal or higher to those who have the illness, according to WJLA.
