67,740 times per year.
--According to a 2013 report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, almost all national studies of defensive gun uses have found that firearms are used in self-defense between
500,000 and 3 million times every year in the United States.
Most researchers stated that getting an actual statistic is very hard, nonetheless, those above-mentioned numbers are on the low end. Other research has stated that defensive gun use to be in the hundreds of thousands. But, even if we went between
55,000 to 80,000, thats still a big number. That an additional 80,000 murders or traumatized people per year, that may have been likely reduced to to defensive gun use. This also contradicts your argument that FOX NEWS would be over all these stories. Clearly, FOX NEWS has not covered nowhere near 80,000 reports of defensive gun use.
Now, according to the CDC, its between
500,000 to 3 million times every year, a much larger number than cited above. Either way, whether 50,000 or 3 million, its quite clear that the MSM and FOX NEWS is not covering every story of defensive gun use.
